We now have the Evanston IL Real Estate report for May 2016. This is data current through May 14th 2016 and covers a comparison of April of 2015 and April of this year. Evanston IL Real Estate has 9.1% less new listing in all property types a gain of 1.9% of closed sales and 18.9% less inventory when looking at the total picture of all types of properties together. To break it down further let us look at single family homes. For the month of April we have 2.2% less new listings at 90 properties as compared to 92 in April of 2015. Evanston has a gain of 6.1% of under contract houses, 52 as compared to 49 at this time in April of last year. The market shows 12.6% less closed sales of single family homes in Evanston IL at 42 homes, last year there were 48. The average sales price of single...

I was approached, the other day, by a relatively new agent in our office, who wanted to know if I needed a paid licensed assistant.Her business wasn't "taking-off" as she'd hoped, and was looking for a way to supplement her lack-of-income while she ramped-up her real-estate business.While I'm having a good year, I'm not at that point where I need to hire anyone to handle anything... Every year I take Mom on Mother's day to the Evanston History Center Annual Mothers Day house walk. This year was really so much fun and the weather was great. It was about 68 degrees, sunny and no wind. A perfect day for walking, talking and viewing historic Evanston houses. Every year they do something a little different and we both agreed that this was excellent. After the house walk we go out to dinner and it was a little bittersweet because usually my Dad joins us for the dinner part but this makes year two that he has not been around, he left this world in October of 2014. Nearly every day has been cold and rainy for the last few weeks. On Saturday it never stopped raining day or night. It gets depressing to never see a blue sky. Today was a little different. It is been in the mid 60's sunny and almost no wind. I love the blue sky and nice white clouds.
