Memorial Day weekend was a great time to get out and walk the greenbelt. The flowers and trees were blooming. The geese were showing off their new babies. The falls are a little high with the spring runoff, and the rapids are beautiful. Much different than when they were frozen!      Crossing has a wonderful fountain in the middle of a turn about with wildlife, and an eagle. Idaho Falls was was originally called Taylor's crossing, and then the name change to Eagle Rock. More the history  can be found in an earlier blog I wrote about the history of the falls. The greenbelt can be enjoyed from the many hotels in the area. Come and visit sometime!

Well... here it is, the eve of May 1st and we are at 32 degrees with the ground covered in snow. I have been putting off pulling out my camera because of this horrendous winter/spring we have had.  © 2009 Jeff Fullmer    I am ready for the shutterbug to bite, I hope the lingering cold/snow does not chase it away. So I pulled out the camera to see what would happened.   © 2008 Jeff Fullmer  I have photography in my blood but have never really explored it.     © 2008 Jeff Fullmer Reading (and seeing) pictures others have posted on AR has inspired me deeply. Thanks to all those who share.

I recently read a blog on whether it was spring yet in our area by Glenda and Steven McDaniel. I work in Utah and live in Idaho. I was home a couple weeks ago and thought I would take a picture of the falls in spring. If you can call it spring because it was cold, windy, and there was a chance of snow. I also thought it would be a good time to add a few pictures, from 2002, of what the falls look like in the winter when, at times, they freeze. Very pretty. Later, in a future blog, I will have to show you pictures of how beautiful Idaho Falls looks in the summer.  For more history on the falls my other blog. They mentioned that they would like this site to be more about technology so I left  the history out on this site.

Last night was our monthly event for the Young Professionals Networking group. It was held in O'Callahan's Restaurant inside The Shilo. We had a great turn out, about double the amount that showed up last time. There was a brief educational insight, (presented by this months sponsor: Intelligent Employment Solutions), on how to higher the right employees. Most the night was spent socializing and having a great time getting to know other young professionals in the area. This has been our 4th event for the newly sprung group. (The Young Professional's Network is a program organized by the Greater Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce for community members aged 21 to 40 for the purpose of professional and social networking.)

I am often asked by REALTORS® and buyers, "what are home loan rates doing?" In the market place that we are in right now, this is a complicated question. It can vary greatly based on your situation. The rate you are quoted this morning may change by the afternoon. With rates as low as they have been, I have had dozens of buyers request that I call them once rates hit a certain mark.  Most lending institutions post their rates on the Internet, but these are generic and only give you a general idea on where things are at. Besides, how often are those rates really updated? At Citizens Community Bank, we have created a progrgam to save you time and money. With RateWatch you can sign up for customized automated rate notifications by e-mail. It only takes 42 seconds to sign up! (Really, I time...

If you live in Idaho and are a first time homebuyer then acting now will allow you to capture incredibly low rates. With an Idaho Housing and Finance Association loan you can also be guarenteed the lowest monthly payment possible.   Rates today on an IHFA loan are 5.6%, (5.74% APR), and a stepped loan of 5.12%, (5.26 APR). When you think of Idaho, what comes to mind? A sack of potatoes or maybe a bathroom stall? In the next couple paragraphs I will outline what Idaho should really be known for; a booming housing market and stellar economy.   I am often asked how the housing market is doing, "pretty bad huh?" I usually raise an eyebrow in faint surprise and ask the nationally read customer if they think that this is the case with Idaho. The reply is, "well of course, its all over the news!" This is when the education begins and I can barely contain myself as I rattle on and on with exuberance: USA Today released a front page article titled, 'Which state has the fastest-growing economy?', that was released a few months ago. It details how Idaho is the heart of America's biggest economic boom and this run is...

Who says the market is tanking in the real estate world?  While, it's true the market in some areas is in correction, does this mean the market is tanking and that you should avoid real estate for the time being?  ABSOLUTELY NOT!The time is now better than ever to become a real estate investor.  Also, there is no such thing as a national real estate market!!!  Don't listen to the network news to get your real estate information.  Real Estate is a local market with local ups and downs, or highs and lows. Can you make money in a down market?  Can you make money in an up market?  The answer is simply, YES YOU CAN.  The key to success in real estate is knowldege and understanding.  Gaining the proper knowlledge will help you overcome the fear associated with being an investor.
