The eagles have arrived in North Idaho!

The eagles have arrived in North Idaho! In late November or early December the eagles come to Lake Coeur d’Alene for the kokanee (salmon) spawning in the gravel close to the lake’s shores. We drove around the north and east sides of the lake, by Beauty Bay, to see the eagles feeding. There is limited parking at the Mineral Ridge Trail Head so we normally stop the car and watch from the side of the road. At this time of year if you take time to go out on the drive, you should be rewarded with eagle sighting. Remember to take binoculars so you can spot the eagles perching in the trees especially the dead snags.
