Do you like to sit in the sauna on a cold night?  Well it's gets pretty cool in the upcountry town of Kula, so a hot sauna might be just what you need to take the chill out of your bones.  The house for sale at 63 Ka Drive, in the Kula Kai neighborhood, has a cute little wooden sauna hut in the back yard.  It's listed for $945,000 with Pacific Century Realty and it would make a great new home for someone moving to Maui. I have my own BLOG! Our Realtors Association of Maui recently updated the IDX offering for many of us, which now comes with a free Wordpress website.  It comes preloaded and easy to use, so after about a week or two I got a good handle on it and now it's almost a month into the new website and it's going full speed ahead.  My old site was very tired and out dated, as it was a DIY job from about 20 years ago. : (     Things have changed and for the better.I'm so excited to finally have my own blog, where I can have more control over everything.  It's been pretty easy to use and there's still a learning curve, but I can handle it. The Surfing Goat Dairy in Kula, Maiu in Hawai One of the fun things we did on our recent trip to Maui was visit the Surfing Goat Dairy on the slopes of Haleakala, the 10,000 foot dormant volcano on Maui. We weren’t staying on that part of the island so it was a bit of a drive but well worth it. More on Haleakala later. The dairy is officially in lower Kula, a small town part way down (or up) the mountain. I had seen this goat cheese brand on a restaurant menu and we thought it’d be fun to check the place out since we were going to be fairly close by. This male goat was fun to watch - he was playing with his food dish, carrying it around and dropping it on the ground - but that video didn't turn out. There are tons of things to do in Maui, but if you are in need of an extra relaxing day make sure you visit the Ali’i Kula Lavender Farm. In Maui, we refer to the areas of Kula as "up country".  The highest parts being called "upper Kula" and those areas of Kula closer to the bottom of the mountain as "lower Kula". One of the many attractions in Kula is the beautiful lavender farm.  At the Ali’i Kula Lavender Farm you will find over 50,000 plants and almost 50 different types of lavender. It was the day before Christmas and my dog Mia decided to climb under my cottage and eat rat poison.I had a full day planned to visit clients and dropping off gifts, but Mia my 90lb Mastiff had other plans. So we spent most of the day wrestling in the vet examine room getting her to drink down her medicine.  The lady vet gave up and left me to wrestling with Mia. Well, all ended well, dang dog, glad she is doing better. I did make it up to Kula to visit my clients Brian and Peggy and drop off some fresh banana bread my wife made and fresh oranges from our trees.
