Maui's first medical marijuana dispensary finally opens!It's been 17 years since medical marijuana has been legal in the state of Hawaii, and the first dispensary has now been green-lighted to open the doors and sell product to patients.  Two outlets have been licensed to sell cannabis products on the island of Maui, and Maui Grown Therapies has passed all inspections and requirements to offer the dried flower buds for sale.  Other related products are still waiting for the thumb's up from the Hawaii Department of Health.This week they'll handle patients with appointments only, and starting August 14 they'll take walk-in customers.  Business hours are 10:00 am to 7:00 pm Monday through Saturday.  They are located at 44 Paa St., in Kahului, in the Maui Lani Village Center.  Fred Rickert ... 08/08/2017

Great lunch at Cafe O'lei at The Dunes Restaurant in Maui Lani 808 877-0073  1333 Mauilani Parkway, Kahului HI 96732 We had a lovely lunch on the 4th of July, at the Dunes Restaurant, in Kahului.  It's actually Cafe O'lei at the Dunes, the Dunes Golf Course at Maui Lani.  The daily special was Macadamia Nut and Honey Roast Pork with Ceasar Salad, and it was only $6.95 so who could resist that!  The service was  prompt and friendly and you couldn't ask for a nicer location and view.  What a beautiful holiday!
