Some may tend to believe that Real Estate talk means only short sales, buyers, sellers, loans and so forth. I'm a Real Estate Industry Professional but I'm darn sure human.  And that means I can adjust my thinking and my attitude to any market, conversation, challenge because I AM a chameleon. Being a chameleon means I can adapt to my surroundings. Regardless of where I am ....when it comes to ‘All Things Real Estate'..... I can take into consideration what real estate means at any given place and time. While blogging on ActiveRain,  I grasped the concept that ‘All Things Real Estate' meant to write about  ‘All Things Real Estate' too. Open your mind to the possibilities of what "All Things Real Estate" really means. My Local Area:  No matter what branch of the Real Estate Industry we a...

North Shore DiningWhen your ready to venture away from the Beach Villas at Ko Olina head to the North Shore or Haleiwa, my home town. Here, stop at Kua Aina's for a Mahi Mahi burger, my wife loves their burgers. They also have hamburgers but we never order them. I get mine with Ortega Chilies on it. Delish! Kua Aina Burgers For desert, stop at Matsumoto's for a Shaved Ice. I have great childhood memories of my mom rewarding me with a shave ice after my haircut across the street, the barber shop is now a dress shop. My favorite flavors are li hing mui, lychee & lilikoi (passionfruit). Matsumoto's Shave IceThe best Mexican Restaurant on the Island is also in Haleiwa,  they have good margaritas also. Good local vibe. After lunch, continue on around and stop at Waimea Bay, Sunset Beach, Pip...

The crab in the picture had a little too much sun and got cooked right there on the rock! Sharks Cove is a giant reef located on the North Shore of the island of Oahu and a great place for snorkeling & scuba diving. The crystal clear water depicts the awesome views of marine life in their natural environment that you are bound to see under the surface of the ocean. With Spring already here and Summer approaching, this is the best time to snorkel as the waters are calm. (unlike during the winter when the waves go up and over the rocks) At the end of the reef the ocean drops off to about 25 feet. Tip:  Wear shoes!  The rock and coral formations are definitley hard on the tootsies! Watch out for the Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles (endangered species) and White Tipped Reef Sharks.  Picture ab...

You've walked with me through the Historic Honolulu County Hawaii - Club Chaos Eye Candy post and my pictorial of Historic Sites in Honolulu County. Now you will really see a few sites in video......and be there right beside me.... Historic Haleiwa Town:  In 1898 Benjamin Dillingham (a businessman) opened a hotel on the North Shore of Oahu and named it Haleiwa (Ha le ee va), Hale meaning house and iwa is a frigatebird.  With many preserved old buildings this old town makes for a wonderful destination for tourists.  Anahulu Stream Bridge, also known as Rainbow Bridge is on the north entrance to Haleiwa town. It is also listed as one of the historic bridges of the United States. Pu'u o Mahuka is the largest heiau (ancient temple/religious site) on Oahu (island I live and Honolulu County) ...

The surf is up and the mother of all waves, the Pipeline, should make for great surfing tomorrow. 20 foot (possibly greater) waves are expected on the North Shore which will make for some exciting surfing for experienced locals and visitors from all over the world. The waves tomorrow will make the events scheduled for The Reef Hawaiian competition which begins today a real challenge for competitors and a thrill for spectators. November through March is the big surfing season on Oahu , Hawai'i's North Shore .  The North Shore is internationally famous in the surfing community because of its huge waves, during these months, known as the Pipeline. The best surfers from around the world are here on the North Shore for the surfing competitions that are being held this week through December. ...

Ahhhh...hard to believe that amidst the splashing and laughing and playful antics surrounding Waimea Bay on the North Shore of Oahu that there would be a Hawaiian Monk Seal bathing in the sun. Oblivious to all going on around it, this Endangered Species is taking advantage of a beautiful tropical day to catch a tan (haha) and few winks. Where the population of the Monk Seal used to be high, it has decreased 11% per year since 1989 and is the MOST endangered marine mammal in the United States. One of the main factors for their decrease in population is contributed to discarded fish nets and lines that the monk seals get entagled in. Another contributing factor is that the Laysan and Lisianski male seals are attacking the females and the deaths are up to 10 to 11 seals on Laysan alone w...

My schedule has been so busy the last couple of years, that I never seem to enjoy quality time in Hawaii. The other day I made a commitment to change that.  I bought a couple of sets of snorkels, masks and fins. Today my oldest son Daniel and I hit the North Shore of Oahu.  After about 15 minutes or so in the water, 3 large sea turtles decided to join us.  They and a school of various tropical fish seemed to want to hang out with us.  My son Daniel who is born and raised here never had an experience like that.  I used to skin dive regularly when I was younger.  In those days you never saw a sea turtle.  Since making them a protected species, they are easily seen almost everywhere in the islands. After a nice visit to the beach, we took a nice drive through historic Haleiwa.  Now that is...

What a way to spend a September 3, 2007 Labor Day but to jump in my car and cruise down to the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii!  Being a Realtor Associate® on Oahu is a luxury and I surely don't take it forgranted. No matter where I take my clients there is going to be breathtaking scenery all around us and we have laws of the land to abide by such as in this post:  Purchasing Hawaii Vacant Land? Ancient Hawaiian Burial Sites and Laws I had been cooped up in the house for two days resting my injured back. I woke up refreshed for the first time in two days and I did my morning ritual of checking my Active Rain blog for comments to respond to and so forth.  A quick trip to the grocery store and I thought, "I can't sit here all day again" And off I went! T-shirt, jeans, camera and me. It's a M...

The following graphs represent real estate data from high-end neighborhoods on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii.  These neighborhoods include Sunset area, Sunset Velzy, Pupukea, Haleiwa, Kawela Bay and Mokuleia.  It's kind of blurry but the basline represents years by quarters starting from the 1st quarter of 2004 until the 4th quarter of 2006.  The first green line under the baseline, represent price per square foot.  The next line is Days on Market and the last green line represents the percentage it sold for from the list price.  These are all strong indicators of how the market trend is going.
