Some of you have probably heard about a special little boy named Tripp Halstead. He was critically injured on Monday, October 29th when a large tree limb snapped and fell on his head while playing outside his daycare in Georgia. Tripp is the only child of my cousin Stacey and her husband Bill Halstead. I am asking you to pray for him and his family during this challenging time in their lives. Tripp has made remarkable strides so far in his recovery. A few days ago, doctors thought there was no chance and now there is hope. We get calls everyday of homeowners wanting to "get rid" of their home.  I can tell you that we often tell people that they don't qualify for to sale them home as a Short Sale as they do not have a valid hardship that will be a reasonble option for the mortgage lenders to approve.  We do not give our clients any false hope and if we think that there will be an issue with the home we want to tell the homeowner up front.  There are two things that "make or break" a short sale.  First, the homeowner must have a hardship, secondly, they need to fill out a financial affadavit. This week was a week that we love in the Short Sale Industry.  We had a lady come to us on Friday (October 26th), she needed to rent a home for her family.  She stated that her home was going to be foreclosed on November 6th.  She was very upset and stated she didn't know what to do.  Bill started talking with her and she had been laid off for some time now.  She had some medical issues and stated that she had NEVER been late a day prior to this employment layoff.  Bill asked her if she would be willing to help him by filling out a couple key papers, an authorization to allow us to contact her mortgage lender, and then set up a time to talk with Nakia for a short sale intake consultation.  She did.  We processed the authorization, over the weekend, we priced the property appropriately t... 11/02/2012

Had lunch at Casey’s the other day.  I have never been there, went with my partner Bill and he said it was awesome.  He didn’t lie, it was amazing, small restaurant on the corner South Jackson Street and Candler Street in downtown Winder, GA.  It had an awesome atmosphere and excellent customer service.    When we enter, if you know anyone around town you can probably see them there.  We saw the City Mayor and other city and county officials (And some that think they are city officials) while we were there.  You go to the back of the restaurant, place your order and then have a seat and they will bring you awesome food.    I had two hot dogs and fries with some amazing sweet tea.  Price was very affordable and service was quick.  I highly recommend Casey’s.  But beware they are only ope... 08/14/2012

Foreclosures in Barrow & Jackson Counties rose in September. Barrow County topped 205 for the month of September making it the third highest month ever.  Year to date in Barrow County, there's been 1,595 foreclosure actions.  Cities like Winder are noticing the inventory increase.  In Jackson County, the new monthly record is now set at 150 for September.  Total foreclosures for the year in Jackson is up to 1,053, already more than all of last year.  08/23/2009

The FDIC appointed a receiver of the First Piedmont Bank in Winder Georgia today.  This makes the 15 banks failure in Georgia since 2008.  We also had major bank failures here in GA in 2007 with the failure of NetBank in September 28, 2007 that makes 16 bank failures here in less that two years.  At the time NetBank failed, it was considered the 4th largest bank failure in US history.  Georgia has the highest bank failure rate in the nation to date in this economic crisis that seems far from over.  According to FDIC announcement, First Piedmont Bank of Winder, GA will have its assets assumed by First American Bank and Trust of Athens GA.
