Today about 100 Realtors from Keller Williams Coastal Area Partners (and many thousands more across the nation) took a time out from their regular business to donate a day of their time to volunteering at The Fresh Air Home on Tybee Island.  A great time was had by all the agents donating their day. This year the children attending Summer Camp at the Fresh Air Home will enjoy newly screened windows, some freshly painted bathrooms, a newly painted pavilion at the beach and a newly boarded board walk to the beach! Without the Fresh Air Home many of these 300 children would not get the chance to have a summer vacation at the beach, thank you fresh air home for giving these children this great opportunity! About The Fresh Air Home: Every summer the Fresh Air Home (FAH) opens its doors to h...

Back in 1883  Tybee Beach was becoming popular with the wealthy Savannah residents and other, more affluent Americans. In 1885 the Savannah and Tybee Railroad was incorporated. The 18-mile journey from Savannah could take the better part of a day when construction of the railroad was begun on August 9, 1886. Today there's no need for a train to take you to Tybee Island from Savannah but Tybee has a perfect mix of the old charm!   Today's Tybee Island (often referred to as Savannah Beach), less than a half hour drive from Historic Savannah is a popular place to live full time and to vacation. From beach front condominiums in all price ranges, charming beach cottages to sprawling homes with big porches there's something for everyone on Tybee Island.  With a strong community spirit Tybee ...

If you have never been on Tybee Island at the start of the summer season then you are missing all the fun.  This coming weekend marks the Opening of the summer season-with the Beach Bum Parade-scheduled for Friday May 16th starting at 6:30 pm.  But be warned, this is not your usually parade. Wear your bathing suit and bring out all your water pistols-and I mean the big water guns.  This is a parade of a different sort -which only Tybee Island can do.  There is a parade grand marshal, a parade queen, and lots of fun.  The entire business community, individuals, and floats parade down Butler Ave. on Tybee Island.  The trick---everyone is shooting water, throwing water-and it is a total soak down for everyone whether you are a participant or riding a float.  With temperatures this weekend ...

Tybee Island housing was once mainly single family dwellings, made up of cottages within the small residential area and some larger oceanfront homes along what is called the ocean-side of Butler Ave., but in recent years there has been a proliferation of condos. With limited space for development, and with more people choosing to buy a home on Tybee Island, it is natural that condos would be the development of choice, actually, of necessity.I have learned as a real estate agent that not everyone knows exactly what a condo is, or, at least, get confused with what ownership of a condo entails, and many people get them confused with townhomes.A simple explanation is that condo, short for condominium, refers to a legal description for a type of ownership that is both common ownership and ind...
