It is snowing in Atlanta.  High temperatures are expected to only reach 32 degrees tomorrow.  The system, which wasn't expected to deliver much snow to Atlanta, has stalled over the downtown area for around the last 3 hours. Accumulation is being reported on roads, especially secondary streets. Check out the late afternoon picture of a lake in the Kensington Subdivision in Snellville that is half-frozen! 01/07/2010

Kensington is a Brookwood gem. Built by John Wieland, the neighborhood has many of the features that are typcial of his neighborhoods such as swim/tennis, a lake, and a clubhouse,  Each home features an expansive floor plan. Most homes are 3000+ square feet. Many homes feature his and hers closets in the master, jetted tubs. A good proportion of the neighborhood now has new roofs. This is a very well kept neighborhood run by a community association company.  Owners take pride in their homes and neighborhood. Community wide events are planned often. This gives the neighborhood a community feel. The pool is a the perfect place to catch up with your neighbors.  THere are only 3 homes for sale out of the 136 homes in the neighborhood. Due to high gas prices, the fire department was not able to send the fire truck like they usually do. We improvised and had the neighborhood Harley owners and some of their friends help lead the parade. A majority of the neighborhood participated and their was a float decoration contest. At the end of the parde, everyone enjoyed bomb pops, cookies, water and juice boxes in the club house.     07/04/2008

Our annual July 4 parade will be held for the residents of the Kensington community. Each year, the neighborhood has a parade complete with a Gwinnett County Fire Truck. The kids decorate their wagons, bikes, tricycles or whatever else they can get their hands on to show their pride in the freedom that we have in this great country. It is days like this that we can remember how blessed we are to live in a country where freedom is guaranteed and all can come together as a community. Have a happy 4th.       07/03/2008
