My husband recently went to Okinawa, Japan on a business trip.  As is his custom, he brings me trinkets home from the region he visits.  My expectation was a Komono, but to my surprise he brought me home a Kokeshi doll instead (representing my birth month, July).  Isn't being a real estate agent a little like that? The Paso Fino Horse Association (PFHA) is holding their 38th annual Grand National Championship Show at the Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter in Perry, GA on Sunday Sep. 19th, starting at 10a.m.  The event runs through Saturday Sep 25th, is expected to have over 3,500 attendees, and brings PFHA talent from all across the U.S. and abroad. The Paso Fino is a breed of horse, originally from Spain, known for their comfort and endurance.  They are especially popular for trail riding. Many residents in middle ga are surprised to learn that there is a beautiful new state park and fishing area right in our backyard.  Opened this past June, the lake is over 100 acres and stocked with large mouth bass, bluegill bream, channel catfish and sunfish.  The lake is now open for fishing either by boat or along the shore.  The boat ramp is easily accessible and there is plenty of parking.  Eventually, the entire area will be an estimated 800 acre state park and wildlife management area.  There is also some new real estate development taking place in the nearby area. Haunted Barn in Perry Georgia    I think this will be my first stop for Halloween this year. It looks pretty good/entertaining and proceeds go to charity. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. The Haunted Barn is now open Fridays to Sundays from 8 p.m. to midnight. Beginning Oct. 23, it will be open every night until Halloween. All proceeds will be donated to the Humane Society. The Humane Society will also hold an auction on site, with more than 30 items that will be given away on Halloween night.
