Fifth High School Land Purchased   Land purchase agreements for Douglas County's fifth high school were approved by the Douglas County Board of Education at their regular meeting on February 25, 2008. Additional land is being purchased on Georgia Highway 92/166 to add to a parcel the school system already owns. The site will be over 70 acres. "The projected start of construction for the new high school is within the next year," said Superintendent Don Remillard. "It usually takes three or more years, start to finish, for a new high school to be constructed. When the new high school opens in about 2011 we will need to redraw the high school attendance boundaries to populate the new school." Over the last 3 weeks, my new husband and I have had the pleasure of eating at a Douglasville restaurant called Chaunce's.  The food they serve there is a wonderful mix of Steak, Pasta & Seafood dishes, and their atmosphere is definitely an inviting and fun one.  We have always been greeted warmly and seated promptly, no matter what night it is.   They've had an increasing number of guests each weekend that we've gone, and the live jazz music acts are enjoyable and talented.  I invite everyone to check it out if you're looking for a new tasty location with friendly, knowledgeable, personable staff. In todays market it is sometimes hard to keep your chin up. Everyday the news tell us how awful it is out there. I know times have changed but I do not think that it is all gloom and doom. In a previous blog I wrote looking for a referral agent and I posted exactly what I knew this referral agent would be getting into with this seller.  The comments I got were all so positive and thought I did a great job being up front about the situation.  I personally believe that being straightforward is always the best way.  Or as my friend Jennifer says "no sugar coat from Sybil".  Well apparently not all our clients or potential clients as in this case feel that way about honesty. A couple weeks ago I received a call from a seller that was getting her house ready to go on the market.  This is a home she has had as a rental for 7 years.  She asked me to go over and preview the home and give her my opinion about the price range she wanted to list it for which I believe was around 173... 08/02/2007
