Blue Ridge, a quaint mountain town, located in Fannin County nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia. Getting here takes approximately 1 1/2 hours from Atlanta, 1 hour from Chattanooga Tennessee and central to Asheville North Carolina, Gatlinburg Tennessee, and Pigeon Forge Tennessee.  In the early 1900s, visitors from nearby cities traveled to Blue Ridge by train (founded in 1886) to take advantage of the pure mineral waters since the town was once considered an elite health resort. Today, Blue Ridge welcomes visitors from all over the country and the world to shop for authentic Appalachian arts and crafts, pottery, quilts and more. Visitors are attracted to Blue Ridge for the very essence of a time gone by. Leave your cares behind and step back into yesteryear i...

In our current market conditions, Realtors more than ever have to be on their game. In my market, the North Georgia Mountains, there was a day not too long ago where a Realtor could pick and choose the customers they wanted to work with. Obviously the Buyer coming into the area looking for a 4 bedroom home on wheels would be overlooked for the one looking for a 2 bedroom cabin with a great mountain view. Boy.....have times changed! Now its more like the Buyer gets to pick and choose the Realtor. How do you know you have picked the right Realtor?Below you will find 10 ways to make sure that the Realtor you choose to work with and help you find your next mountain home isn't a few sandwiches short of a picnic and will provide excellent customer service. A Realtor should provide you with fi...

Have you ever had a client ask you this question...What ever happened to a good ol' fashioned handshake?Believe it or not, it wasn't too awful long ago that was the case here in the North Georgia Mountains, folks really did business on a handshake. However in today's world of high tech gone wild, I believe we are forgetting about the simple things that mean so much to our customers and clients! Things like dropping by on Saturday morning for a cup of coffee, or an afternoon visit to help out with the yard! I know this may seem a little ridiculous, but doesn't it mean so much to them? We need to be bending over backwards to take care of our clients in more ways than just on the business side of life. It's all about being Good People!I recently had the opportunity to help a client with a ...

10. I've got to know....Does it have a "knock your socks off" mountain view?  Let's face it, folks come to the mountains because of those views! That is usually the first question Buyer's ask when calling or dropping in and asking about a specific property."Some like to have that "top of the world" view while others prefer to be in a valley looking up at the mountains."I personally like feeling surrounded by them. My perfect mountain dream would be in a valley with mountains surrounding me with lots of pasture and little rustic Mountain cabin right smack dab in the middle of it. The cabin would have a creek flowing right beside my window to help put me to sleep at night. I guess it would be like Grizzly Adams right here in North Georgia. Care to share your perfect mountain dream? 9. I'v...

Well, we were attacked at home last night!  It was a quiet evening at home.  They arrived silently before dawn..sneeking right up to my front door!  My 3 dogs never heard them..they slept right through the attack!  It was the White Tail Gang of Raccoon Ridge.  It is a small gang..only 3 members, but it is amazing how much damage they could do in one evening.  It started in my driveway.  The trail of destruction included a peach tree, an apple tree, a rose bush and all my lilly plants.  They then moved on to my planter next to my front door, where they ate all the oriental lillies and anything that resembled food to them.  Of course I am talking about the neighborhood deer!  We love to watch them, just like everyone else, but being pretty new to mountain life, we didn't know that some pl...
