The new NMLS system is supposed to standardize the mortgage licensing process into a National Registry and database system. While we all agree that financial reform is a much needed thing, sometimes the implementation of these things can cause much controversy. For industry professionals who have tried to hang on, and make it through one of the worst financial and real estate crashes in our history the NMLS and S.A.F.E act standards are causing much concern. Brain Bowl - Not what you might think! The Rotary Club of Spring Hill, Florida, held it's 18th Annual Middle School Brain Bowl today at the Explorer Middle School in Spring Hill.  This is an annual event with teams of students participating from the middle schools in the County.  Explorer Middle School was last years winner and hosted the event.  This year, six teams competed in five games and a final to determine the winning team. Under fire to do more to stop the foreclosure crisis, the Obama administration announced new mortgage modification steps on Friday to help the unemployed and those who are "underwater" with a bigger loan than their home is worth. For eligible unemployed borrowers, the effort would require loan servicers to reduce monthly mortgage payments to 31% or less of income -- or even suspend them entirely, an administration official said. The forbearance assistance would last up to six months, after which the borrower would be evaluated for a loan modification. An administration official declined to comment whether interest or fees would be charged during the forbearance period. February 2010 Real Estate Market Report: Timber Pines, Spring Hill, Florida Inventory of Homes for sale in Timber Pines, Spring Hill, Florida decreased since last month.  There are currently 50 maintenance-free villas and 82 single family homes available for sale in the Timber Pines Country Club community.   Five properties are offered for sale as short sale opportunities, there are no REO/foreclosure properties offered for sale in the Timber Pines community.  The number of homes sold in February 2010 in the Timber Pines community continued to be low.  However, the number of homes under contract has once again increased in Timber Pines.  A total of 29 properties are currently under contract, 24 of these are pending, and only five of these are with contingenies.
