THINGS TO DO IN PANAMA CITY BEACH The Thunder Beach Motorcycle Rallies have come a long way these past few years on virtually every level.  The future, to be sure, is even brighter: As the up-scale development at Pier Park builds out, Thunder Beach should have a significant presence there.  Simon Property Group, the nation's premier developer of entertainment, dining   and retail shopping space, is building an open-air extravaganza second to none.  When Pier Park grand opens in March of 2008, Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville will be just one of the entertainment and dining anchors.  Simon's expressed desire to incorporate Thunder Beach into the Pier Park mix, during the rally, is very exciting. A brand new, state of the art, Harley Davidson Dealership will, hopefully, soon break ground on ...

When you plan your vacation to Panama City Beach you must treat yourself to the wonderful seafood dinners that await your visit. You will love our warm Southern Hospitality, hot she-crab soup, fresh fish and shellfish, and homemade desserts.     When you plan your vacation, save a couple of nights to enjoy a nice dinner before you crash into one of the local beach parties. And if you are bringing the little ones for vacation, you'll need to know which restaurants are 'kid friendly' and which ones cater to more adult tastes. There are literally hundreds of restaurants in the area making it possible even for locals to try a new menu every week. For many families, going to the beach for summer vacation has become a way of life. We see church groups, civic clubs, business organizations, sor...

I am very excited to be in the real estate business in the Panhandle of Florida.  During this time of growth and development, I feel like it is a tremendous opportunity to be a part of a market that is on the verge of exploding once more.  If you have any questions about our area or are interested in investments and/or developments, give me a call. Good luck and God bless you all.

I read an interesting article today in regards to the TDC (Tourism Development Council) and spring break.Once again, the TDC appears to be marketing to spring breakers.  While others may not see the benefit to this tactic, I certainly do.Other tourist oriented cities market the spring breakers constantly.  During the spring break weeks, those cities (as Panama City Beach has in the past) experience significant increased revenue generated by the college students.  This is a win win situation for the local economy as well as the real estate market.Spring breakers eventually graduate from college, get jobs and want either to settle down somewhere or purchase a second home.  Many them, having fond memories of spring break in Panama City Beach Florida, choose to return and purchase their hom...

I read an interesting article today in the news herald... Danny Grizzard, director of Florida Aquatic and Marine Inc. and Mike Gomez co-owner of the Panama City Dive and Ski Center both support the sinking of the decommissioned tug boat - Red Sea. The site is planned to be located about five miles off the St. Andrew Bay pass in 75 feet of water. Read the full article. Also, the newly planned Audubon Center at West Bay is getting lots of attention lately. Linda Macbeth, the center’s project director for Audubon of Florida, will be giving an updated presentation on the planned 15,000-square-foot nature center slated for a site on State 79 located near the upcoming International Airport. The event, will be open to the public at no charge, and will be held at the Edgewater Beach Resort Conf...

I received a phone call yesterday, for a home showing in Wild Heron near Panama City Beach Florida.  But I have plans to attend a seminar.  Decisions...decisions.For those unfamiliar with this area...Wild Heron is a very nice vacation and Golfing community.  It's park like setting along with the 18 hole private Shark's Tooth Golf Club makes this a wonderful get away retreat and full time residence.  Along with all this, Wild Heron's Prospect Point offers a Boat House, Health Club, Neighborhood Pool & Grille, Fire Pit, and Playground Area. The showing is for a couple, referred to me from one of my previously satisfied customers (to read what other customers have to say about my services, see my testimonials page).  I am not going to dissapoint them!I'm going to send Jessie to the seminar ...

The NEW Bay County International Airport Groundbreaking! November 1, 2007 was considered a "red letter" day in Panama City Beach, Florida.  The big deal was the ceremonial groundbreaking for the new Bay County International Airport ... the beginning of the construction phase for the newest ‘state-of-the-art' international airport in the U.S.  It's hard for locals to believe that this event has much interest beyond the bays of our area.  It's been the subject of conversation and controversy, hopes, plans, schemes, and dreams for the past few years.  Many, many locals have said, "It'll never happen."  And many others have said, "Say it isn't so."  While many of us in the real estate industry have said, "Could it really happen here?"  The airport is planned to occupy a 75,000-acre area sec...

The golden sunshine, southern hospitality and quaint beachside charm you've always experienced in Panama City Beach is nothing new.  What is new, however, is almost everything else! A new skyline of distinctive architecture fills the horizon, and a collection of enchanting eateries, exhilarating attractions and chic retail are arriving daily. New museums, theaters, galleries and parks are on their way. The pedestrian friendly renovation of Front Beach Road that parallels the Gulf of Mexico will bring sidewalks, bike trails, tropical landscaping, a public trolley system and a fresh new look to the beach. The development of Back Beach Road (Highway 98) that runs through the heart of Panama City Beach is making history and this is only the beginning!   READ MOREAt 4000 acres, the new airpo...

Personally, I can remember as a child in north central Alabama, aka Birmingham, that Panama City was the summer reward for managing to get through another year of school, without having to attend summer school.  Not being the brightest candle in the chandelier, I didn't always make it, but I can say that for the years I did make grades high enough to keep me out of summer school, Panama City was the reward that permanently embedded the most  beautiful memories in my head.  Like the Panama City pier, and the fishing.  As a youngster, one is entitled to snag bait, because one doesn't own a rod heavy enough to challenge the big fish such as King Mackerel, Cobia (Ling), Amberjack, or even a good sized Bonita, and even if one did, little fellows would have a most difficult time bringing in a...

The condominium inventory is starting to shrink as people take their units off the market. In July of 2006, the number of condos on the market was 3021. That number has dropped almost every month sense. As of June of 2007 the total number was 2125.  The lower priced units are selling and overprices units are expiring.  The market is correcting its self.
