Uno Chicago Grillhas arrived in Naples and is serving their famous Chicago Classic deep dish pizza!  It is located on 2380 Vanderbilt Beach Rd.  Their phone number is 239-566-7866.  For residents formerly from Chicago, you are in for a taste treat. They have an extensive take out menu.It looks like Aurelio's Pizzaat 590 N. Tamiami Trl 239-403-8882 will definitely have some competition.  After 11 years in Naples, I am THRILLED to have Uno's here.  Now if Naples could only get a good Chicago beef sandwich joint my husband would be in 7th heaven.Every time we travel back to Chicago, which is not often as it is hard to leave Paradise, my husband Don, over doses on Chicago pizza, beef sandwiches and hot dogs.  When we were in River Grove, IL in July, Don made several pilgrimages to Gene & Ju...

Why would someone want to own a piece of Naples real estate?  It just occurred to me...who wouldn't want to own property here, especially if they were famous?  I did a few searches on the net and really couldn't find too much regarding the famous people who own real estate in Naples, Florida.  In fact, on Wikipedia.org there are only 4 "notable residents" listed.  Why?  Is it that our residents don't get caught up in the hype or that we don't have very many paparazzi running around town?  Is it that our Naples real estate agents respect the rights and privacy of our clients? I'm sure this has something to do with it but when you also factor in the fact that our airport is small and quiet as well as our town, I have to imagine it minimizes the chances of crowd drama considerably.  We hav...

I spent yesterday afternoon showing in the sweltering heat.  Most of the time I was showing pool homes under $350,000.00 in Naples Park.  It never ceases to amaze me how much work some of these homes need.  Naples Park is an area in North Naples that has smaller lots with ranch homes on them.  It is an area where some of the smaller homes have been torn down and new homes built.  As time goes on, more of these small homes will be torn down. One home I was in was so bad that the smell of mold permeated through the front door.  Black mold was crawling up the walls inside the house.  This home was in such bad repair that the only thing that could possibly help it would be a can of gas and a match.  The value in this place was in the land; not the house or the list price.  Did I mention that...

I have been in the process of implementing a new portion of my website to help people better understand and easily search Pelican Bay. Because of the complexity associated with Pelican Bay, I have identified each subdivision for you, provided pictures, descriptions and compiled Pelican Bay Community searches all at just a couple of clicks of your mouse. Those of you who already know Pelican Bay can start shopping for Pelican Bay's Best Deals right now while others who are just getting to know Pelican Bay can read up and get to know the neighborhood. Just one request for your patience, although I am nearly completed with my summer project there are still some Pelican Bay communities requiring better descriptions and pictures. If you have questions before I am able to update my site you'r...

The Naples Daily News had a good article in the paper this morning Pelican Bay Mangrove Experiment .  Apparently the experiment that has been going on in restoration has been going well. The mangroves are such an integral part of Pelican Bay that it is great to read that the restoration has been working.YIKES!  Hurricane Dean is our first named hurricane of the season.  The National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) reports that Dean is moving toward the eastern Caribbean islands where hurricane and tropical storm alerts are in effect.  I put together some good Hurricane Resource Sites The NBC site has insightful information on preparing for a hurricane.  I sincerely hope Dean fizzles out and causes no damage.  I still remember watching, waiting and preparing for Charlie and W...

They are out........Hey!  The median sales price for the State of Florida's 2nd quarter shows a 1% decrease from 2006 2nd quarter.  Ft. Myers-Cape Coral showed a -22% change in their median price.  What I'd like to know is if there was a large sale in 2006 in that area that might have slanted the stats.  Just a thought....Please keep in mind that the Naples Board of Realtors does not supply any statistics for this report.  Florida Sales Report - 2nd Quarter 2007Existing Condominiums  Realtor SalesMedian Sales PriceStatewide &Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs)  2nd Qrtr.2007  2nd Qrtr.2006  %Chge  2nd Qrtr.2007  2nd Qrtr.2006  %ChgeSTATEWIDE* (1)       12,41516,566-25   $208,400$211,200-1Daytona Beach           303353-14 $244,800       $240,8002Fort Lauderdale1,9332,712-29$197,800$212...

Since I had some time today, I decided to spend some time learning how to work Active Rain.  I spent most of the day redesigning my profile page http://activerain.com/naplesbuys Feel free to let me know your opinions on it.The response in views and clicks on my 700 Lambiance Cir #204 unit amazed me.  Could it be all those photos I included about it in my blog?  I have a slide show on my web site http://www.naplesbuys.com/lamb10.htmabout this same unit and I haven't had the response that I had with my blog entry!I guessed all those photos of the beautiful area that I sell in could produce more views, so I spent another chunk of time today pouring over my photo files trying to copy certain photos into files.  I am amazed at the number of sunset photos I have....One of the pluses of sellin...

The Estates at Bay Colony is truly a remarkable subdivision located in Pelican Marsh.  Currently there are 10 homes listed in the Estates at Bay Colony ranging from $3,250,000 to $6,999,000 and although mls shows there are 3 closed sales in 2007, one is actually hard to consider a true sale since the builder refinanced the property himself and moved in personally.  Debbie Lohan is the Memberhip Director at the Bay Colony Golf Club.  She has had lots of activity this summer which is somewhat unusual for this time of year.  If you're interested in World Class Golf, you may want to check into it.  The Bay Colony Golf Course was designed by Robert Von Hagge and was home to a Senior PGA Tour event from 1996-1998 and was declared by many to be the finest course they'd ever played.

A friend of mine asked me the other day what my favorite restaurant in Naples was.  My response, was, "gosh, do I have to pick just one".  I eat out all the time, too much in fact and enjoy the variety of places to eat so I sectioned out what my favorite places were for food types.  If you're in town, you must try to stop.*  Tropical Reef, located across the street from Pelican Bay is an excellent place for seafood.  I love their sesame encrusted tuna but everything I've eaten there has been out of this world.  The outside of the building is a crazy kiwi green color and you may think that the food will not be so great but it is fabulous!  The chef is from Texas and is truly a legend.*  Andre's Streak House for steak.  We the porterhouse for two when we go and it's awesome!  You will not...

Are you getting ready to sell your Fiddler's Creek home?  Your goal when you sell your Fiddler's Creek home is to do so fast!  Part of doing that is making sure your home is appealing to the Fiddler's Creek buyer.  Let's face it, the market is challenging, so you need to do everything you can possibly do to ensure top dollar and a quick sale!Does this sound familiar? Each day you go into your overflowing closet and you can't find what you are looking for.  Perhaps you need a closet organizer!Your home is cluttered and you have no place to put things You cannot open the bathroom drawersYou open the pantry door it is disorganizedDo you think this would make a good impression on a Fiddler's Creek Buyer?Clean out the closets, kitchen and bath cupboards!  Rent a storage unit and put all thing...

Yesterday I drove up to the International Design Center www.idcfl.com in Estero.  They have been advertising 70% off samples.  Since I have been doing some remodeling and hope to redecorate my family room, I decided to go up there and check out the place.  There was a $10.00 admission charge to enter.   A portion of the proceeds will benefit Senior Friendship Centers. The building is beautiful - a great place for showrooms.  The first floor showrooms are open to consumers to purchase.  The second and third floors are trade floors.  There are several vacant showrooms in the building.  Especially on the third floor. If your taste runs toward traditional and you have to furnish one of Naples' huge mansions, this is the place for you.  If you live in a condo and have more contemporary taste.....

As I reviewed the hot sheet (what went on in the market today according tothe Naples MLS) this evening, I noticed a listing in Marquesa went under contract.  YIPPIE!  That reminded me to write this announcement.  Hey Bay Colony property owners, there aren't very many listings in your neighborhood right now.  Depending on where you are, now might be a great time to list your Bay Colony property!  Here's the current run down on Bay Colony inventory:Marquesa - No more active listings availableToscana - 1 active listing currently availableSalerno - No active listings availableVilla La Palma - 1 active listing availableMansion La Palma - 1 active listing availableRemington - 1 active listing availableWindsor - 2 active listings availableBiltmore - 2 active listings availableBrighton - 1 acti...

Our board of Realtors - NABOR - arranged for the off season for its members and guests to have access to the Tuscany Reserve Golf course. My buddy is an avid (and reasonably good) golfer (I, on the other hand am not so good) and could not wait for us to get on the course. Truth be told, neither could I. This is a PGA Championship course. And while there is water to deal with it's not as bad as many other Florida courses. The fairways, for the most part, are wide open.BUT, it's the dangers that are not so apparent that can kill your game. It tests (and requires) golfing skills that are not in use for most of us regularly. Like, the rough and grass around the bunkers is pretty deep and thick. I actually plugged a ball in it near a green side bunker. Trying to swing a club through that stu...

My husband and I recently decided to remodel our kitchen.  We removed a pantry that opened the kitchen to the rest of the house.  In the process of removing the pantry, we had to replace 3 ceramic floor tiles.  (Thank God it was 3 tiles as our pattern is not made anymore and we only had 4 tiles left!)  Once the new tiles were in, you could really see how our older tile and grout had become so dirty over the 11 years since the tile has been installed.  Over the years I had used all sorts of cleaners on the tile but could never made the tiles look like new.  Our contractor suggested we try a product called SUPER CLEAN http://www.superclean.com/index.php  This product is a miracle!!!  You just spray it on the tile, let it sit for a couple of minutes and then scrub it a bit and surprise.......

If you or your customer has been waiting for the right time to purchase in Naples, Florida...you might consider taking a look now!  I've noticed within the last couple of weeks some of our hottest deals are starting to go under contract and other market indicators are showing signs of a slight heat up.  There are still plenty of good buys and you're early enough that heavy reporting regarding this activity is not widely known so negotiating opportunities are still prime.  Buyers from up north including Ohio, New Jersey, New York, Illinois, Massachusetts and Maryland have been searching more heavily on the Internet and making more calls regarding trips they're making within the next few weeks to come down to purchase compared to "look around" which was all we've been hearing all year up ...
