The third annual Brevard County Fair began  March 31 and runs through April 10.  It will be held at the Wickham Park Pavilion on the Brevard Community College Campus.  The fair has fun for all ages.  There will be carnival rides, music, and singing.  There will be a horse expo, a 4H competition and a poultry show. Today is the first day the students in Brevard County are off school for Spring Break. It's been raining since the middle of the night, with a lot of thunder and lightning.  We are hearing that there's a 50% chance of rain through Thursday. Hopefully, they're wrong. I love Springtime, when Daylight Savings Time begins. This weekend we set our clocks ahead one hour.  It will stay lighter in the evenings.  To me, it feels like the days are much longer. Now we have the opportunity to be home before dark. We can spend more time enjoying the evenings and the gorgeous weather, with a light breeze and no humidity. We have more time to meet buyers after work and look at houses before the sun goes down.  Recenty, I have looked at many houses, in the dark, after buyers have gotten off work. It can be quite difficult.   When I don't have appointments, I get out with Bailey the Boxer and we get to take longer walks in the park. The breath of fresh air is exhilirating. The 23rd Annual Strawberry Festival was held this weekend in Melbourne Florida.  It featured a pancake breakfast, a 5K run, a car and bike show, games, rides, pony rides, arts and crafts, face painting, a music festival, ice cream, strawberry shortcake and karaoke. It was sponsored by Habitat for Humanity.  Habitat for Humanity of Brevard County, Inc. welcomes volunteers from throughout the community.  They build houses for low income families.  The houses are sold to these families, at no profit to Habitat for Humanity.  The families pay the no interest mortgages and this money is used to build more houses for more families.   Every year, Habitat goes out of their way to put on a great event. I recently went to visit a friend that I had helped purchase a house a couple of years back.  We grew into great friends during and after the process of buying the house.  We see each other at least once a month and we talk every other week.  She is a wonderful person. And, I feel lucky to have her as a part of my life. She's a sweetheart. The funny thing is, she was referred to be by a very dear friend of mine, that I helped purchase a house nearly 12 years ago. Melbourne FL Home Buying Over the past couple of months, I have been spending quite a bit of time with buyers.  We have buyers picking first homes, vacation homes and just plain looking for a good deal. I always tell buyers to let me know what they like or don't like about a property.  At first, some buyers can be reluctant to say what they don't like. "Well, I kind of like it," almost as if they don't want to say something negative. It's not about positive or negative. It's about the qualities in a house that they'd like in the house that they'd like to buy.
