          St. Sebastian River Preserve, Fellsmere Florida This past Saturday I went on a walk through the St. Sebastian River Preservein Fellsmere, Florida.    Leading the walk was my neighbor and friendJean Challis.  Jean is a Florida Master Naturalist and a volunteer at the Environmental Learning Center.                              St. Sebastian River Preserve, Fellsmere, Florida What a spectacular place!  The St. Sebastian River Preserve is an impressive placeset on 22,000 acres of protected land.    The site preserves open grassy forests of longleaf pine that were once so common throughout Florida.    You get a good  picture of what Florida used to look like.  It was a perfect day for hiking, as it wasa bit overcast and the temperature was 75, warmer days are just around the corner... 03/03/2008
