The third annual Florida Wildflower Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 28 on West Indiana Avenue in downtown DeLand.   Originally having a Volusia County focus, the Florida Wildflower Festival is gradually expanding into a statewide celebration and a forum to encourage wildflower propagation both commercially and residentially. I've been reading lots of blogs, newsletters and media notes about "we are in a buyers market".Well, this is true. But I have not seen a posting on educating buyers on what really is the buyers market.My opinion is that people need to be educated on who can buy and what buyers are not ready to purchase.Although people want to buy.  I have dealt with lots of customers in the past month that come to me and say I want to buy because its the right time.  Yes it is the perfect time to buy, but they need the resource to back them up on a purchase.What are the resources, well first and foremost you need to have decent (not perfect) credit.  Second you will need to have some financial back up.  Loans are little more difficult to come by now.  Lenders are more hesitant in lending money to people... 11/14/2007

Attention all Volusia County Residents! Please attend the County Budge Hearing tonight, September 6, at the Volusia Administration Building in Deland. (123 W. Indiana Ave) They are asking for as many people as possible to come to help stop, or rather protest the "increase in taxes". Apparently last year at the same meeting, over 600 people were in attendance and they successfully stopped the increase. In fact, the City Council voted for a "roll back rate" instead!
