Sold - in LESS than a week! There is indeed nothing like a seller that really wants to sell! That little home I listed at 910 Berkley Place in Clearwater Florida has a contract on it and it was on the market less than a week. There are not many homes for sale in Clearwater Florida for 80k, so there were dozens of people wanting to see it. It was advertised as a 'fixer upper' and 'handyman special'. For some, it needed too much work but an investment firm offered 55k and I presented this low offer.  My buyer countered with 65k and the buyer asked their agent to write it up. With temperatures reaching 81 degrees today, Caladesi Island State Park on the Clearwater Florida intercoastal waterway is going to be our destination with the boat! Looking at the weather report, next week's temperatures are going to be almost ten degrees colder, so if we want to get the boat into the intercoastal waterway, this is going to be the day to do it. Yesterday was Clearwater Florida's Color Run 2014 and it was GREAT! The sun was out, the afternoon temperature was 81 degrees and there were thousands of participants! Great December weather indeed. We were sure to arrive extra early. The event started at 9 am, so we left home before 7 and were in downtown Clearwater Florida a little after 7.  Since it was so early, we parked on a side street with easy access to our exit route. No packed parking lot for us when the race was over! My daughter, eldest granddaughter and some of my daughter's friends met Alice and I about 20 minutes before the start of the day's events. At each kilometer mark colored powder made up of corn starch and a coloring agent were thrown on us. In the end, we were multi-colored - it was a 5k run but we actually did ... 12/07/2014

Florida leads the nation in nash home sales for the 3rd quarter of 2014 and that is great news for the Sunshine State. According to the Florida Association of Realtors, the Tampa-St Petersburg-Clearwater area had 51.1% of all home purchases during the 3rd quarter of this year purchased with cash.  The Miami-Ft Lauderdale area had two of every three purchases done with cash and while the Miami area had the most cash sales, there were more cities on Florida's Gulf Coast that had cash deals. These cities included Ft Myers, Sarasota-Bradenton-Venice and right up the coast to the Tampa-St Petersburg-Clearwater area. Clearwater Florida area Fourth of July Celebrations 2014 is here once again! Time to get out the grill, fire up those burgers and hot dogs, head to the beach, watch fireworks and celebrate our nation's birthday!   So what is going on where this weekend?   Well, there was a 1k, 5k and 10k race last night on the Dunedin Causeway, so if you weren't there, you missed it. Since everyone enjoyed all of the photos of Nicholas and Winter the dolphins, I thought I would share more photos of Hope. Hope is the newest addition to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium and is the second female dolphin in residence, so she shares a tank with Winter, the other female there. Hope is a rescue dolphin, as are the other two residents at the aquarium's dolphin tanks. Nothing beats spending time with the dolphins! I love seeing them in the wild as well, which we do with every boat trip! 07/02/2014

Meet Nicholas the dolphin that lives at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium in Clearwater Florida. Nicholas was found beached with his mother on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico and brought to the aquarium. Both were dehydrated and severely sunburned. Beaching means their sensitive skin is no longer covered by a protective layer of saltwater but that the hot tropical sun is burning their delicate skin. The team attempted to save both of them, but his mother did not make it. Nicholas is a full grown Atlantic Bottlenose dolphin now, having spent the last 12 years at the aquarium. It is nothing short of a miracle that he survived but he can never be returned to the wild. Clearwater Marine Aquarium in beautiful Clearwater Florida is home to Hope the dolphin as well as to Winter the dolphin of Dolphin Tales. Both Hope and Winter are Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins and both are rescue animals. As we all know from the movie Dolphin Tales, Winter was rescued and would have died had it not been for the prosthetic tail that was engineered specifically for Winter!
