With foreclosure rate at a all time high,the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is promoting rules that would force lenders to make closing costs easier to understand and reveal payments to mortgage brokers.                                                         The proposal is less strict than the one that failed in 2002, but still would require lenders to provide an accurate good faith estimate that doesn't change by more than 10 percent. The most controversial portion of the proposal would require any lender payments to mortgage brokers to be noted on the good faith estimate. So far,business is not going as I planned. So as I was reviewing my goals for the year the other day,a thought came to me - CD-ROM Business cards. I have heard that some people use them. But what I don't know is if using a CD-ROM Business cards works. Can anyone please tell me when did free cost you something? Can someone please tell me when did paying for something become free? I am sick and tired of people always saying that they are offering free services or products only to request money later on. I think it sucks and very misleading. I"ll appreciate it if I can know upfront whether something is free or not. I was just blogging on here when I saw one of the Active Rain Sponsors ads on this site. It says "Be More Productive". Bring the blog. You're paid to sell,not to blog. We blog for you $399/yr. Of course,we all blog on here to share information/knowledge,gain knowledge from the brilliant real estate professionals on this site,get good leads,referrals and hopefully turn our leads and referrals into closing. But if you pay someone to blog for you,isn't that cheating? I just want to get your opinion on this because I can be wrong. Maybe I am missing something here or not seeing something. I just called this homeowner who had a home on sale in a certain area but the listing agreement just expired. He told me to e-mail him information about me,my company,why I should be the listing agent for his property and some comps because some real estate agents have already called him about trying to re-list his property. I did just about everything trying to get some good comps. I even went outside of the Subdivision and did just the zip code for comps in his neighborhood for the past year or so. Any advice? I was watching the news last friday night about President Bush trying to help struggling homeowners across the nation. The package of changes that he outlined in a Rose Garden ceremony includes legislation proposed by Michigan's Sen. Debbie Stabenow that is supposed to help ease the income tax burden on homeowners who real estate analysis strike debt-ridden deals with their lenders.  I agree with President Bush (which is very rare) when he said that it is not the Government's job to bail out people who made bad decisions when it came time to buy a home they knew they couldn't afford.
