Let it Rain Brownies in Wilton CT! We had quite a turnout here in Wilton, CT in spite of the rain and flooded out roads.....  almost everyone was able to come.   I think we had 4 people that couldn't come at the last minute, but had some great surprises along the way, too!    We ended up with 26 here at my house. Hurricane Irene is blasting its way through Wilton, CT 06897 today - here and now. I love, love, love this floor - it's so pretty and unique.  This stenciled hardwood floor is in the new home of one of my customers.  He is about to move there - in about a week.  This house is really nice - hardwood floors throughout and a special added touch in the master bedroom.       I wish I could take credit for these.  But, I do know someone who can handpaint this sort of stenciling.  And, of course we can take care of the straight forward part of refinishing the hardwood floors. 08/12/2011

Saturday was a great day.  I met with a super nice customer - one of my previous customers referred me.  She wanted to replace carpeting in a large playroom - over 500 sq ft.  They had a nice nylon looped carpet that had a bunch of stains.  They didn't like the way it looked now, and they wanted to replace it.  But, they were also concerned as they had some young grandkids and were afraid that they would spill on it and ruin it again. I started to ask questions about what they really wanted and then I had a hunch (based on how the floor felt underneath...so I checked underneath the carpet...and sure enough, they had hardwood underneath!   Gardening in Connecticut, Cucumber Season & Pickles.   Gardening in Connecticut, seems like once a plants starts producing it goes 110%, just like my work at real estate. With so many cucumbers I have been experimenting with pickles and here is my recipe that I am going to share with you. 16 oz clear glass Mason jar. Cut 2 average cucumbers into 1/8 inch thick slices 1 small white onion thinly sliced 1 cup vinegar ½ cup water ½ cup white sugar Pinch of kosher salt Fresh dill.   Pack cucumbers in a clean mason jar with a few sprigs of dill, and sliced onion. Combine vinegar, water, sugar, salt and the few remaining springs of dill in a saucepan over medium-high heat and bring to a boil. Pour over cucumbers in jar to top.
