Making the Transition to Winter I had made a series of posts on the color changes of fall in Watertown CT. The colors seemed to be especially bright this year and as the transition was made, each day brought some additional photo opportunities. With a touch of cold, and some winter snow a little early, the course was chilly and not playable for the frost on the greens. A Sunset that had the sky ablaze in red I was on my way to one of my listings in the North side of Watertown CT and as I reached a crest in the hill, the view to my left was brilliant. I had to go a bit further than I wanted to get away from the trees, but it was well worth the effort.   I watched it until the colors disappeared and was so appreciative of the reason I had to be here at that time.  Being Aware of  Our Surroundings I am a committed golfer and unless I am told I cannot walk, I walk almost all every time I play. I find it gives me the chance to analyze the shot I took plus keep myself focused on where I hit the ball so it is easier for me to find. Regretfully not all of my shots are in the middle. Be an early morning golfer, there are visuals available to me that I would miss were I to play later in the day.   Such was the case  a couple of weeks ago when we were in the middle of full October colors.  Family Dining with a View       The completely remodeled restaurant at Crestbrook Park has recently opened. Located in the hills of lower Litchfield county, the appropriately named The Sunset Grill it offers westerly views across Merriman Lake for those in the dining area. As the final post in this series I took a photo this morning at the top of the 2nd hole at Crestbrook Park in Watertown CT. It has been a typical fall week for weather with wind, rain and cool temperatures. All of this has stripped the color from the trees.    The progression of colors shows the difference from a bright day in August we what we have in late fall. Fall Has arrived and the Colors have Gone Like my friend, George Souto, I have offered a sequence of posts on the change of colors in our area. The area George has high lighted is almost the exact geographic center of the state in Middlesex County. I have focused on the Southern portion of Litchfield county specifically Crestbrook Park in Watertown CT. The park has some excellent views when on the golf course, and the panorama of the hills from the top of the second tee is breath taking.           This is a shot of the hole in mid summer when all is green. Fall Has arrived and so Have the Colors I have been tracking the colors of the leaves at Crestbrook Park the past few Sundays from our second hole. This hole with an elevated tee has a great view of the hole as well as the hill in the background. Over the past week, the  colors made a drastic change and with the heavy rain we had and the wind the leaves are blowing all over as well.  By next weekend there will be almost no leaves left on the trees and the scenery will begin to take on the pre-winter drabness that may be appropriate for Halloween, but not for the anticipation of  what is coming. Continuation of the Transition of Fall The rainbow of colors on the trees is very pronounced and also quite vivid when hit by the sun. I started this series a couple of weeks ago with the same hole at Crestbrook Park in Watertown CT. The second hole has a great view as it is an elevated par 4. The first post was back on September 28 at the start of Fall. The colors made a slow change over the ensuing week. The Colors are Starting to Appear Last week I posted a photo of the hills facing Crestbrook Park in Watertown CT. Specifically it was the view from just off the second tee. Being successful at life and our relationships also requires work on behalf of all parties as well as some luck and the maturity to adapt to pitfalls and coming out on the other side with a better bond after working together.
