Press Release from Town Manager The Town of Tolland, like all municipalities throughout the state, faces the daunting challenge of preparing budgets for the next fiscal year in light of a severe economic decline and a State budget that has large projected deficits in the next three years. In the next year, Departments have been instructed to prepare initial budgets at a level of no more than a 1% increase including salary increases and to provide options for potential decreases in department budgets for up to 5%.   On Friday and Saturday evening the Tolland Fire Department's brightly lighted and decorated fire truck will visit Tolland neighborhoods on the east side of town as the 2009 Holiday Lights Tour comes to an end. This year Santa is accompanying the truck in a custom-made sleigh to greet young residents! On Sunday Santa will bring his new sleigh and the lighted truck to town again so that children can meet him and parents can take pictures. The Tolland Tax office has 2,110 Supplemental Motor Vehicle bills on the 10/01/2008 Grand List for those taxpayers who had registered motor vehicles between Oct 1, 2008 and July 31, 2009.
