Milford, CT Real Estate News

Yesterday, I went to a Milford CT real estate inspection with my son, who was shadowing me for the day. When I was using my Supra Key to open the lockbox, there was a really long delay. The device kept processing and wouldn't move to the next step. I also updated it before I left, so something else was up. This is a problem I've never had before with any sort of Milford CT homes for sale. Then my son mentioned that the sun could be disrupting the infrared (IR) signal between the Supra Key and the lockbox, so he shielded both devices from the sun with his hand and EUREKA! The lockbox opened :) Just wanted to throw that out there for future reference. Real estate coaches would always tell us to think outside the box. Usually, people looking to buy a house or homeowners who want to see what's out there in anticipation of selling their house now or in the near future go to open houses on Sundays. Do you hold your open houses on days of the week aside from Sunday? Feel free to leave some feedback if you've done this before and your experience with such open houses. Have you heard about this song/video? Did you see it on Good Morning America this morning? Sure, it's not a good song, but I'll admit it's insanely catchy. For some reason it just puts me in a good mood despite the "substance" (or lack of it?) of the song. Sometimes you just need to let your guard down, don't take things too seriously, and just enjoy yourself. The real estate industry can get really stressful, so it doesn't hurt to unwind every once in a while :) Lydia Lucas is your source for Milford CT Homes for Sale Email: LydiaLucas@PrudentialCT.com Cell Phone: (203)980-9213 My Clients Become My Friends

I have a client who I met last night to sign some documents. She asked me if she is the worst of all my clients. She is on the picky side regarding the style of houses in mind, but she knows what she wants. Knowing how much of a commitment it is to buy a new house, I want my clients to be all for it, rather than experience any bit of buyer's remorse down the road. Since last October, I've been working with her. In response to her question, I said "no". Last year, I had a buyer who finally found his dream home after working with me for 2 years, and it was necessary that he find the home perfect for him. I want only the best for my clients. What's the longest time you worked with a buyer until he or she found the house right for them?   Lydia Lucas is your source for Milford CT Real Estat...

Have you been receiving more calls and emails lately? As I said before, apartments for rent in Milford CT are still hot. I've been receiving showing requests through the IDX on my website! With the help of my son, I've been able to rank for some "buying keywords" on Google, and hopefully I'll be able to reach the number one spot for these :) So how are things going for you?

Recently, I've had younger clients looking for homes with the help of their parents. These parents have the resources, so with home prices and interest rates at an all time low, they know now is the time to invest. For now, their kids fresh out of college or somewhere in their 20s can live at this investment properties, and down the road they can rent them out or flip them. I wrote about this earlier on my personal real estate blog, and I just wanted to ask everyone on ActiveRain - have any of you noticed this as well? What's your take on this? Lastly, I can't help but stress the surge of people looking for aparments for rent in Milford CT. Rentals are still hot, and I'm currently dealing with a few rental clients. Get out there take advantage of this!

Photo illustration by The New York Times Published 02/13/2011 Just this morning, my son pointed out this article posted by the New York Times, in which JC Penney was outed for using blackhat Search Engine Optimization (SEO) methods to rank their site for the holidays. For months, they were ranking number 1 for searches such as “dresses”, which averages 11.1 million searches a month in the United States. Then, with recent Google algorithm changes and a manual review by Google themselves, JC Penney’s shady rankings suffered: “On Feb. 1, the average Penney position for 59 search terms was 1.3. On Feb. 8, when the algorithm was changing, it was 4. By Feb. 10, it was 52.” For us Realtors and other real estate professionals, ranking high on Google and other search engines is crucial to succe...

Let’s fast forward and pretend all the snow here in CT had melted. Spring fever is in the air. I was inspired by Chris Canfield’s post on Tropical Reminders. My cousin in Hawaii just posted some photos of his place on Facebook. He and his wife live in an apartment facing the beach and have the mountains behind them. Now, I’m really dreaming of a Hawaiian vacation. For the meantime, enjoy these beautiful views: For more information on Milford CT Real Estate, visit http://www.lydiatherealtor.com/
