Fairfield, CT. home for sale with a true in-law suite can be tricky to find.  Sellers and agents alike go through great pains to create an illusion of an in-law apartment that simply is not there.  I've come to the hard truth that an in-law potential can simply be an unfinished basement that would be a great place for an in-law apartment. It could also be a fully finished independent living quarters for a separate family to live in and thrive.  What I have here my friends is the latter.  This is a 4 level split-level home with both the main level home and in-law apartment with separate entrances, kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms and bedrooms.  The great part is that you are just a door knock from visiting each other in your own private homes. This is a perfect space for elderly parents...

Yes it is a tough Real Estate Market but Fairfield's University Area is out performing most towns and neighborhoods.  The University Area refers to those homes surrounding the Fairfield University Campus.  Through July 31st, 55 Single Family homes have been sold.  This is up 8% over the prior year.  That's right more homes have been sold.  Unfortunately, the number of sales is still far below the 97 homes sold in 2007.  The University Area has always been in top demand due to its proximity to Fairfield's Downtown Train Station.   Amazingly, prices seem to have held up too!  The Average Sales Price so far in 2009 is $626,219.  This is up 4% over last years Average Price and only down 7% from 2007 levels.  Overall, this is the best performing neighborhood in all of Fairfield.    There are...

Fairfield - University Area Update June 2008  The Fairfield neighborhood known as the University Area is generally a haven for commuters due to its proximity to the downtown train station.  Some buyers literally time their drive to the station before committing to purchase.  A time in the single digits of minutes is a valuable feature to those that live and die by the train schedule for trips to NY City.  It is a real surprise to see this neighborhood off 53% from last year in closings.  With a average of 6 sales per month and 78 homes on the market, this translates into an average market time of 13 months.  One of the key drivers in home prices in Fairfield is proximity to New York City and all the high paying jobs.  It is quite a statement on the market that home prices in this neighb...
