This morning I woke up and wandered into the kitchen for some coffee... My sons came down the stairs and wished me a Merry Christmas.  We put all the lights on in the house, and the ones outside too, to let everyone know that it is Christmas.  There is still some snow outside from the recent snowfall (no where near a storm as predicted), but we kept the curtains closed to keep the warmth of the day instead.  Plus the lights show up better this way. Both boys were excited and couldn't wait to open their gifts.. my oldest, Kyle, said to me that he wanted to say a prayer and thank everyone who is overseas and in the military.  He mentioned the same thing last year at this time.  He is so sensitive to things around him, and others in the world. As most of you know, I worked the polls at the election here in Cromwell, CT this past Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009.  The new selectman was the biggest question, along with who would be filling the positions of the Board of Selectman.  There are 6 seats on the Board of Selectman here in town... and there were 11 people running for this position.  When you voted you could only choose up to 4 people.  This was stated on the top of the form and was overwhelming for some people.  There were four on the Republican Ticket, four on the Democratic Ticket and three on the Petioning Line to choose from. At the end of the evening, when everything was tallied, there was only a 9 vote difference for the sixth place position on the board with Allan Spotts being the foreseen winner over Frank Emanulele... 11/05/2009

I have lived Cromwell CT for many years, and it is a realitively small town to todays communities in Connecticut.  When it comes to home repair we would have to travel ½ hour to get to the nearest commerical home improvement store.  There is a Lowes and Home Depot in Newington, and a Home Depot in Middletown, CT.  For me it is 6 of one half dozen of another to get to. I've noticed construction going on...and I've been watching and waiting as a new Lowes is opening up right here in Cromwell.  The grand opening (preview) is tonight, Thursday, October 1st from 5:00pm to 9:00pm.
