Friday Flags:  A Wall of Patriotism in Cheshire CTThere is a section of Cheshire, CT known to locals as the Vale. It has some rather prestigious homes but also there are sections that are just country. One can find horses grazing in a meadow and occasionally alongside the road in one of the corrals.Everyone knows that where there are horses, there are also barns., and that is the case here. The wall of the building facing the roadway has a large decoration on the wall, that covers the wall.A flag doesn't always need to be on a pole or attached to a house and this is one family that are proud of their country.Friday Flags:  A Wall of Patriotism in Cheshire CT

Friday Flags  A Giant Sized Flag in Cheshire CTI pass a Cheshire CT business often, House of Doors, where one can buy any type of replacement door imaginable. They have a rather large guardian that doubles as their flagpole. This Paul Bunyan statue was once one of the many story images that lined the entrance of the old Danbury Fairgrounds, long since replaced by a mall, that may not be the heathiest with the online shopping reality we live in today. He does get noticed on his resent spot and I will give a quick wave when I pass by, probably more so for the flag. Friday Flags  A Giant Sized Flag in Cheshire CT

Friday Flags in Cheshire CT 5.03My good fortune with finding opportunities to share flags continues this week with a flag that stands in front of the Cheshire Volunteer Fire dept at its station near the intersection of Waterbury, Wolcott and Cheshire. With a little patience and a silent prayer to the wind gods, I was rewarded with a flurry of wind and a billowing flag.In a time when so much is taken for granted or even as due, recognizing the flag and the freedoms gotten by so many around the world is something we should not take for granted.Friday Flags in Cheshire CT 5.03

Friday Flags in Cheshire CT 4.26I had to take a run to an appointment in Cheshire CT and passed an office structure with a large flagpole out front. I pulled into the parking lot and waited a bit to see if the wind would cooperate, and my pause was rewarded. The wind pushed that flag out and it gave me the opportunity to take the shot I wanted so I could continue my streak for this post.Friday Flags in Cheshire CT 4.26

Friday Flags in Cheshire CTThe flag today comes from a plot of ground in front of a colonial structure that was once a thriving business.  Now called the Ball & Socket arts building, it offers attractions and areas to exhibit for local artists. In its heyday, it was a stamping plant that made all manner of buttons, some of which adorned the military uniforms during the Civil War.Back in the late 1980's the company was bought by Waterbury Companies and their museum was merged with that plants.A factory with a proud heritage and once the source of work for so many now has a different audience, but the flag still waves proudly.Friday Flags in Cheshire CT

Cheshire CT 2023 Year End Real Estate Market AnalysisCheshire is a town in New Haven County offering a high quality of life. It has a population of app 29,000. It offers an easy commute to New Haven CT of 14 miles; it borders Waterbury CT, Prospect, Southington and Wallingford and is just 25 miles south of Hartford, the state capital. The year 2023 continued the market rush that started with the Pandemic crisis of 2020, and the continued lower interest rates.  In the world of real estate, the exuberance of the business that had started in 2019 started to slow the enthusiasm as people became wary of venturing into homes not knowing who was there or their health. Likewise, sellers were wary of having people come into their homes and possibly bringing in a bacterial issue that would infect...

Friday Flags in Cheshire CT 4.21.23In the center of Cheshire is a plaza that gets a lot of activity. The bank within the plaza has a tall pole just outside its main entrance, and the day I was there, there was enough of a breeze to have the flag blowing proudly. We should a take pride in our country and when we see a flag flown give a thought to what it represents.Friday Flags in Cheshire CT 4.21.23

Friday Flags: Waving Proudly in Cheshire CTI was driving along Rt 10 in Cheshire and a spot of color caught my eye. I took a quick detour into the parking lot of the Big Y grocery store just for the shot.I don't know why it wasn't at full mast as other flags in town especially in front of the post office where up, just not billowing. As I started to drive away, I took a second look and as I couldn't resist, I took another.A double shot won't harm and as they were both special, I'll share both.Friday Flags: Waving Proudly in Cheshire CT

Cheshire CT 2022 Year End Real Estate Market AnalysisThe year 2022 was a continuation of the strong seller's market of the previous 2 years.  The rise of interest rates created due to the inflationary trend in the second half of the year put some buyers back into a waiting mode.  Businesses are on the rebound and their biggest obstacles are the rise in raw materials as well as the lack of qualified employees. In spite of this, after a slight pause the market in Cheshire began its rise and finished the year strong. In Cheshire CT For the year 2021, the market sales or absorption rate was 28 sales per month, with an average sales value of $463,293 and average days on market of 38.For the year 2022, the market sales or absorption rate was 26 sales per month, with an average sales value of ...

All the support posts were adorned with our nation's flag.Hines Hardware has been in business for over 100 years and still offers the same service as was started originally, in 1910.  I know that whenever I need something that they will help me get exactly what I need and always with a smile.Friday Flags in Cheshire CT
