There are two more Film on the Rocks events this summer at Red Rocks.  This is a great event for families and friends, to see either a classic movie or a popularly acclaimed movie from the current year, together with a crowd that appreciates the movie.  If you have never been to Red Rocks and there was not a concert that interested you this year, this is a good way to go and take in the beauty of the venue.  The price is usually about $15 or more depending on when you buy them.  Red Rocks holds nearly 10,000 people, but these events sell out with regularity.  These are all ages events and the only thing you should consider is the subject matter of the movie you are seeing.  Sometimes the movies are not family friendly.  Tomorrow’s Film on the Rocks will be showing The Go...

JUST SOLD - Friendly Hills - Morrison, CO   80465     This cute remodeled Morrison home is now SOLD courtesy of Joan Cox - Metro Brokers - House to Home, Inc. and this first time home buyer could not be more thrilled.    Having a tax lien on the property delayed the closing a couple of months, but this buyer had some patience.    Having met this buyer at an open house, her offer was among multiple offers, and the cash offer won out so the search began.     This cute ranch was remodeled with new carpet and laminate flooring, the kitchen has brand new cherry cabinets and stainless steel appliances.   The bathroom has been gutted and completely remodeled and beautiful.    She will enjoy the large deck for summer parties with friends.   If you are looking for homes in the Denver metro area,...

These pictures were taken at Red Rocks Park … a local park that I love to visit with my family. Last week was a perfect time for a hike. While out and about I noticed the beautiful colors on the natural surfaces all around me. I consider myself so lucky to be a Colorado Native … these pictures really demonstrate the beauty of our mile high city!

In Real Estate, we normally do not encourage clients to paint their walls bright colors when selling their homes, BUT, after they move in I am always a big fan of fun (even sometimes wild) color pallets. I hope that some out there can see the same potential in this awesome outdoor textile as I do! What a fun color scheme for outdoor nature lovers! There is inspiration everywhere … it just takes an eye to spot it! This photo was taken at Red Rocks Park in Golden, Colorado ... a park that I just love to frequent.

One of my favorite summer activities around here, is attending a Film on the Rocks at our awesomely gorgeous natural amphitheater, Red Rocks.  (I know - such a plain and simple name for this incredible geologic feature.) I've already missed The Notebook, one of my favorite films.  But really, with the atmosphere and all, I think a funny film is a better choice anyway.  Last year, my family and I saw Ghostbusters at Film on the Rocks. Oh, and there's always a live band too. They play before the film.  Last year we hear Opie Gone Bad - a local favorite. I'm really hoping to be able to go see these films and realize all the fires currently burning in Colorado are O-U-T! Here's the rest of this years' lineup:  •    Monday, July 2 – WAYNE’S WORLD with School of Rock National All-Stars •    T...

On Top of the World Looking Down on Creation   I was out in the foothills of Colorado this past week in Morrison and came across a cool home on top of a very large hill.   Suddenly that Carpenter’s song started playing over and over in my mind.    I think maybe these folks like their privacy because this home is so secluded from everything else around.  I wouldn’t want to be driving home in a snowstorm and have to climb this hill to get to my garage.  Their views on the other hand must be simply breath taking.

Who Stacked These Rocks Up?   I was on the west side of town with my business partner Will the other day and luckily I had my camera with me.  There is always something interesting to see in Colorful Colorado.   We came across a rock formation that I felt was worthy of being shared with everyone.  It looks like someone came along and stacked the rocks on top of each other.  The top one looks a bit precarious, but I’m sure they aren’t in jeopardy of falling over just because of the mere size of them.  When I look at this formation, I think of the cartoon Shrek.  I can just see that big guy coming by and stacking up the rocks.  Ok, maybe a little too much time at the grandkids house.

Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre, Morrison, Colorado   Just west of Denver in the town of Morrison Colorado you will see Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre.  This is a gorgeous sight with the huge red rocks jetting out of the earth.  In 1941, the City and County of Denver opened the amphitheatre which is a geological phenomenon. This is the only geologically formed, open-air amphitheatre in the world.  Gradual earth movement caused the sandstone ledges to rise from the prehistoric ocean floor.  It truly is a site to see.  At an altitude of 6,450 ft. you can see downtown Denver in the distance. Red Rocks is located at 17598 W. Alameda Parkway in Morrison, Colorado.

The Fort is one of those culinary icons that all Denver locals know about.  With a long and illustrious history, The Fort is a much beloved home for traditional southwestern and early American fare. Situated amongst the Red Rocks of Morrison, Colorado (just west of Denver), The Fort was founded by Sam Arnold, an advertising executive, and is a replica of the 1833 Bent's Fort which was Colorado's first fur trading post.            Initially, The Fort was intended to be a private country home for the Arnold family.  Sam and his wife Elizabeth "Bay" were very interested in Colorado history and "Bay" had read a book on Bent's Fort, an adobe fort on the plains.  The Arnolds purchased the property that The Fort stands on in 1959.  They hired a top Santa Fe architect to design their new adobe...
