Special Government Home Renovation Loan Program using FHA 203k Renovation Loans in Montrose Colorado. Many people are not aware of a special government loan program that is part of the Federal Housing Administration or FHA (a department within HUD). A buyer or existing home owner can do meaningful amounts of remodeling or updates to their existing home without having a higher cost second lien thanks to this special FHA loan program. However, this loan program doesn't allow for "luxury items" in your home such as a swimming pool, hot tub, or other accessories. Although, you can repaint, replace flooring and appliances, add a room to an existing structure (which can add to value tremendously as you increase the square feet of your home) as well as remodel cabinetry in kitchens and bathrooms...

Maybe you are thinking of relocating to the this beautiful part of Southwest Colorado and you are an avid Golfer. The City of Montrose has 3 golf courses located within its bounThere is the Black Canyon   this course is owned and operated by the City of Montrose.  The 2 nines are very different from each other. The front nine was built in the 1960's and is your basic straight up and down fairways, very park like with little in the way of sand traps or water. The fairways are lined with mature trees. The back nine was built in the early 1990's and is more like a course you would see today.Homes do line the outside boundaries of the back nine but not really to the point where you have to be concerned  about hitting them except fairway 17..  Generally speaking homes do come up for sale on...

String Um Up Boys...The Hanging Tree Montrose CO Things to See Back in the old west days, hanging was a fairly popular, and permanent, form of punishment for serious crimes. Montrose, CO was founded in those old west days, and it does have a hanging tree. From what I understand, only one person was hung from it, though.  Here's the story: This happened back on August 9, 1878. There was a bad man in Montrose, CO. His name was George Bikford. He was accused of robbery and stealing horses. Back in those days stealing a horse or a rustling cows was a very serious offense. Now all of these crimes are alleged, but George Bikford was hung for them. Maybe it was his reputation that preceded him, and got him hung. Bikford once ran with the Dalton gang. Here's an interesting twist on the story......
