Boulder Colorado Monday Morning Mountain Motivation Last week I decided that I will start posting a few photos of the mountains around the Boulder and Denver area. I am starting to take my camera with me everywhere as I am constantly enamored with the changing mountain views. The first photograph below is a good example. It’s the view from the inside second aisle at Columbine Unity Church. I took the photograph yesterday just before the morning service began. The minister’s podium is just to the right of the image.   View behind the minister's podium at Columbine Unity Church, 8900 Arapahoe Road, Boulder   This is an upfront view of the Flatirons taken from the main trail in Chautauqua Park.   Turning around from the view above and looking down over downtown Boulder.   If you or someone...

Boulder County Schools offer something for everyone.  We are currently in the process of trying to find the perfect match for Callie to attend middle school next year.  The options are very broad.  Should she attend Manhattan Middle School For The Arts or should she attend Horizons Charter school with it's small size classrooms and focus on making the world a better place.  Casey Middle school might be a nice option with a brand new green campus and top notch classes and ESL program.  Centennial middle school is intriguing it's larger size allows the broadest spectrum of after school activities and programs. So many choices, but so many options.  As I talk to friend around the country I am surprised to hear that we a very blessed in Boulder, CO to have all the different education optio...

Scripture Reading: John 3:1-21 Key Verse(s): Just as you can hear the wind but can't tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can't explain how people are born of the Spirit. (John 3:8) Salvation is a work done in our life by the Holy Spirit.Jesus explained that we cannot control the work of the Holy Spirit. He works in ways we cannot predict or understand. Just as you did not control your physical birth, so you cannot control your spiritual birth. It is a gift from God through the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:11-14; 2:8-9). Salvation is much more than just knowing about Jesus. This Jewish teacher of the Bible knew the Old Testament thoroughly, but he didn't understand what it said about the Messiah. Knowledge is not salvation. You should know the Bible, but even more important,...

Boulder Colorado Into The Wind: The Ultimate Kite Store Here in Boulder Colorado along the Front Range the wind is often a force to be reckoned with. Most of the time the air is fairly calm but occasionally wind gusts can reach up to 50mph or more. Early spring and late fall seem to be the time when it picks up the most as high and low pressure systems are shifting over the Rockies causing wind storms along the Front Range that can go on for hours at a time. With this in mind, it’s easy to understand why Into The Wind, one of the greatest kite stores in the world, was born here in Boulder 29 years ago. Founded by architects George Emmons and Jim Glass, the store has produced countless kite designs over the years and become a landmark for many who live here. Into The Wind has one of the ...

Boulder Colorado, Hiking the Amazing Flatirons on the West Side of Town It is very cold outside right now. The last time I checked the temperature was around 3 degrees F and tonight it is supposed to get to -4 degrees. The predicted high for the week is 37degrees. When it's cold like this, we need a little something to help us remember how nice the weather can be here in Boulder. Here is a great video with some spectacular images of the Flatiron range stretched across the west side of town. The weather is nice and makes for some good arm chair hiking about the foothills. Sit back, relax and take it in. Forget about the cold weather for a while and enjoy the scenery here in Boulder Colorado--a great place to live, work and play.         If you or someone you know are interested in buying...

Boulder Colorado Caffe Sole: In Search of the Perfect Cup of Chai Tea One of the great things about living in Boulder is the many coffee shops dotted throughout the city. Starbucks’ success has left a market gap for locally owned coffee shops catering to those of us seeking a warm cozy place to hang out, chat, work and sip on our favorite beverage. Caffe Sole is just one of those kind of places. Located in South Boulder near Table Mesa and Broadway, Caffe Sole caters to a broad mix of students, consultants, writers, mothers, professional workers and about everyone else in between. I’ve enjoyed going there for the past three years. Caffe Sole has what all of the great neighborhood coffee shops has—atmosphere. You can go in there just about any time of the week and carve out a little nest...
