Boulder Creek Kayaking In between snow storms last week I saw kayaking on Boulder Creek. You have to be quite brave, in my opinion, to face the cold water. The snow is slowly beginning to melt in some parts of the high country—actually, melts one day and snows the next—so the water is good for kayaking right now. What amazes me is all the gear these folks have on. Their wetsuit probably helps a lot but still it has to be cold. And I don’t even want to think about being upside down in the kayak with my head under the water. It’s much more fun for me to watch, warm and dry, from the bank.     Click Here to View Energy Star Certified Homes For Sale Contact Me Today For More Information Or Call Me At 720-771-5594 Click Here to Search More Denver and Boulder County Homes For Sale   If you or...

Boulder Valley Panorama I took these photos last weekend during a hike up Pinebrook trail in the foothills on the northwest side of town. I tried to capture a panorama of the view looking out over Boulder valley, which was truly awe inspiring. The first photo is looking north and each photo afterwards steps one frame to the right. The mid section captures what is considered to be north Boulder. It’s the older part of town with lots of mature trees. The last photo is a side view of the Flatiron Range. You can see a couple of the larger boulders jutting out. Boulder is a wonderful place to live, work and play. A hike of almost any scale or length is just a few minutes away from most any part of town. And no matter where you are you can always look up for a little Rock Mountain inspiration...

Okay, Is This the Last One or What? Boulder—Snow—Again! Yes, that’s right. We got more snow last night. It wasn’t as much as yesterday but still we got some—mostly in the foothills. The sun came out for a few minutes early this morning so I ran out and grabbed a couple of shots of the hills just above town. Yesterday we had about 4 inches but the clouds were quite low so you couldn’t see much beyond the low lying area. Any bets on this being the last one? I say, we could still get more but what do I know...after all, I’m just a jive real estate agent ;-)  Have a great day.     Click Here to View Energy Star Certified Homes For Sale Contact Me Today For More Information Or Call Me At 720-771-5594 Click Here to Search More Denver and Boulder County Homes For Sale   If you or someone you k...

Amazingly Simple, Elegant and Beautiful… I’ve become fascinated with the River Rock Art along Boulder Creek. Someone has been busy working overtime to create these monuments of nature. The rock stands seem to just appear almost out of nowhere. Whoever is doing it is quite determined. The rocks aren’t huge but they are heavy. You must be quite strong to lift the rocks and get them in place and you also have to be willing to get wet. I can only imagine it must take quite a bit of trial and error to get the right rocks to balance and stay in place. We have a local rock artist here among us here in Boulder. Is it you?     Click Here to View Energy Star Certified Homes For Sale Contact Me Today For More Information Or Call Me At 720-771-5594 Click Here to Search More Denver and Boulder Count...

More Snow in Boulder Colorado: What happened to Springtime? The trees and flowers must be really confused here in Boulder and around the Denver Metro area. We just had our third and largest snow for the month of May. A large storm moved through the area yesterday. A cold rain fell for most of the day and into the night. Somewhere around midnight it turned to snow. We woke up to about 3-4 inches of wet heavy snow. Most of it will probably melt during the day today but the weather report says we may be in for a few more inches tonight.   Click Here to View Energy Star Certified Homes For Sale Contact Me Today For More Information Or Call Me At 720-771-5594 Click Here to Search More Denver and Boulder County Homes For Sale   If you or someone you know is interested in buying or selling a h...

Boulder, CO is known for its fun and unusual assortment of activities from rock climbing to kayaking down Boulder Creek.  One of the best times I have had in years is the Banjo Billy Ghost Tour.  Who would have thought that we have so many residents from that have decided to call Boulder, CO home from the other side.   The tour starts at the Boulderado Hotel where we learn of ghost that occupies some third floor rooms after the death of two lovers. Guest and employees have reported seeing ghostly figures, heard voices, and flickering lights have been reported, as well as a general creepy feeling. There is also a ghostly woman in white who has been seen by a number of guests at the hotel.   We then moved onto the Boulder Theatre where we experienced George Paper Theatre. George was the ...

A Simple Dandelion I love how Mother Nature peeps out at the world in the most unsuspecting places. This dandelion was growing off alone in a small patch of grass along beside a rocky trail in the foothills high above Boulder. The sun was diffused through the clouds which allowed the depth of the inner petals to be revealed in the contrast. A dandelion is only around for a few days before it flowers and blows in the wind. So too are we. We come into the world for a short while in the scope of time, we flower and eventually we too are dust in the wind—until the next flower.     Click Here to View Energy Star Certified Homes For Sale Contact Me Today For More Information Or Call Me At 720-771-5594 Click Here to Search More Denver and Boulder County Homes For Sale   If you or someone you k...

Boulder Colorado Rock Art I seem to be stumbling on a lot of rock art here in Boulder lately. In the photos below is a modern version of a cave painting without the cave. On a hike up Pinebrook trail on the northwest side of town I came on this painting on the wall of a huge shear of rock. If you look carefully in the first photo you'll see the painting of a bird on the lower left. The second is a close-up of the bird. It’s interesting to note that nature did a painting of her own on the rock. Notice the black and gray streaks. I suspect water dripping over time caused some minerals to wash away leaving higher concentrations of other behind. It’s a sharp contrast to the bird but both seem to be right at home along the narrow trail high above Boulder.     Click Here to View Energy Star C...

Boulder Colorado River Rock Art Someone has been busy along Boulder Creek lately building River Rock Art. I took the photos below on Saturday while following the trail along Boulder Creek as it begins to snake along Canyon Blvd on the far west side of town. Rearranging river rocks into interesting arrangements may be one of the oldest art forms ever known. Of course, there is no way to know for sure since the rocks eventually fall over or are washed away. I can just imagine how River Rock Art may have once been used to mark trails or for other forms of communication. We’ve come a long way from River Rock Art to Twitter, but this shows that some folks haven't forgotten their creative roots.     Click Here to View Energy Star Certified Homes For Sale Contact Me Today For More Information ...

A couple of years ago I had never heard of a "Walk Score."  Today it has become a key ingredient in the home purchase for many Buyers of Boulder CO Real Estate. This seems to be a national trend as well as a local trend.  I was just reading an article in the Daily Camera a local Boulder newspaper that said many middle class Buyers are moving to the cities from suburban areas.  The new mantra is pick up the bike and leave the car behind. Boulder, CO seems to be very well positioned for this new trend with great public transportation and a bike path system that is second to none.  It truly is a city where a car is a luxury not a necessity.  As Realtor we will want to keep this trending in mind as we help tomorrow's Buyers.  What is the closest stores, bus stop.  Be sure to publicize the W...

Boulder CO Real Estate Average Price Here is a quick snap shot of the Average Price Per Square Foot in Boulder CO Real Estate.   Boulder CO has been fairly resilient over the last two years when we look at the average price per a square foot.  We are actually beginning to see a convergence of the for sale curve and the sold curve, which tends to indicate that Buyers and Sellers are beginning to share market expectations.  The chart above represents the Boulder CO Real Estate market as a whole.  The upper end market in Boulder is still running slower than the market as a whole.  With properties such as the Arete over flooding the market, the high end condo market in Boulder will  take several years to recover and will continue to see downward pressure.  On the flip side, mid level priced...

Boulder Creek I went for a walk on Sunday afternoon on a trail that meanders along side of Boulder creek.  The water was quite high and running fast which means there were recent rains in the high country. I love the sound of running water. I think it reflects the motion of life. Some say that water is the emotion of Mother Earth. I’m not so sure about that but water is a precious gift that we should take care of and protect for future generations.     Click Here to View Denver Energy Star Certified Homes For Sale Contact Me Today For More Information Or Call Me At 720-771-5594 Click Here to Search More Denver and Boulder County Homes For Sale   If you or someone you know is interested in buying or selling a home in Boulder County or anywhere in Denver Metro please call me. Boulder Colorado Blossoms The trees in Boulder are in full blossom--finally. The colors are wonderful. I am amazed at how vibrant the shades of pink, red and white are in the trees. This is the time of year when the trees are shouting for joy and opening their mouths to soak up the spring sunshine and rains. Soon, the spring will give way to summer. What Makes A House A Home? I was walking along the trail beside Boulder Creek a few days ago and came across this cozy little dwelling. It certainly looked attractive although I couldn’t get much more than my big foot in there. Even still, there was something special calling out to me. It made me thing about a comment I once heard about what makes a house a home. I suppose we all have our own idea about what that means. The main differences probably center around those parts of our house that we have a more personal or emotional connection with. Or maybe it’s something else. Clearly, there does seem to be some sort of a distinction between the two. I think it’s harder to sell houses. Homes, on the other hand have a way of selling themselves. That’s because they have a way of speaking to...

More Boulder Colorado Tulips Last Monday, I posted some photos of tulips growing in Boulder’s Pearl Street Mall. Those photos were mostly close-ups of the inside of single tulips. In today’s post, the photos show groups of tulips growing together. The tulips grow up and down the north and south side of the pedestrian mall. The plantings on each side are offset in time so at any given time one side is in full bloom. The last photo shows one of the tulip beds on the south side that is soon to bloom.   Click Here to View Denver Energy Star Certified Homes For Sale Contact Me Today For More Information Or Call Me At 720-771-5594 Click Here to Search More Denver and Boulder County Homes For Sale   If you or someone you know is interested in buying or selling a home in Boulder County or anywh...

Boulder Colorado Sunrise I took this sequence of photos a couple of days ago. Sunrise is my favorite time of day. It feels like a sacred time—stillness and solitude prevail. I usually work on my writing projects in the early morning or read something inspirational. It is such a special time of day so I always try to do something to lift me up. I love the sunset too, but the sunrise is my favorite. I hope you’re having a wonderful day.
