Don’t Bug Me… I photographed a thistle along beside a trail in the foothills above Boulder. I was amazed at all the activity inside. There were several bugs crawling around seemingly intoxicated by the nectar. I’ve been enjoying taking close-up shots lately. These turned out quite nice catching the fibers of the thistle along with the details of the little critters.     Boulder Green Built Homes For Sale Contact Me Today For More Information Or Call Me At 720-771-5594 Click Here to Search More Denver and Boulder County Homes For Sale   If you or someone you know is interested in buying or selling a home in Boulder County or anywhere in Denver Metro please call me. Boulder Integral Incubator I just completed the second day of a 5 day conference called the Integral Incubator held at Boulder Integral in Boulder Colorado. The program is all about helping attendees to launch their personal project, dream or life transition. The support exercises and coaching follows the Integral theory and practice developed by Ken Wilber--a world famous philosopher and spiritual teacher living in Denver. Ken has written over 30 books. In simple terms, Ken’s work supports a world view based on multiple simultaneous perspectives: individual, collective, interior and exterior. Every type of human experience can be mapped into these perspectives. The premise is that a balanced integration of all perspectives leads to a healthy, wholesome and fulfilling life experience. I...

Life on the Edge… Rock climbing is a big sport here in Boulder Colorado. This shot was taken at a popular climbing spot off Canyon Blvd. just outside the west side of town. It’s really a majestic spot with Boulder Creek cutting a path directly below the cliff. I admire how the climbers get up there but it’s just not my sport. Dangling from a rope is not my idea of a good time. I need both feet on something, preferably the ground. Boulder Creek or Boulder River? A combination of high heat causing rapidly melting snow in the high country and heavy rain over the past couple of days has caused unusually high water levels in Colorado creeks and rivers. Here in Boulder our own Boulder Creek is looking more like a river than a creek. The water is extremely high creating a potential hazard to hikers and bicyclists along the creek trails. The water in Boulder Creek is quite high and moving rapidly. If you are hiking or walking near the creek, take extra precaution to stay back away from the water’s edge. The weather forecast is for even more rain over the weekend so stay warm and stay dry.     Boulder Green Built Homes For Sale Contact Me Today For More Information Or Call Me At 720-771-5594 Click Here to Search More Den...

Purple Iris My step-daughter, Reetta, graduated from New Vista High School in Boulder a couple of weeks ago. A celebration party was held at a friend’s house afterward.  There were beautiful gardens with lots of Iris’. I took tons of photos of the flowers, and the people too, but the flowers were extraordinary. The photo below is a purple iris that was growing beside the coy pond. As SharpBuyers.com continues to grow, we have recently entered into the Colorado market, specifically Boulder. We have successfully connected a buyer to one of our local brokers in the Boulder Market. The buyer stands to receive up to $6750.00 from their commission rebate. Real estate rebates are a great way for buyers to save money during the process of purchasing a home. I look forward to working with more Colorado home buyers in Boulder and beyond.

Dandelions—Friend or Foe, They Come and Go… Dandelions are generally considered as something to get rid of from the yard. Yet on closer look, they are truly a beautiful flower. The colors are bright during the flowering cycle and the way they transform is almost magical. Each little seed turns into a miniature wind-sail that eventually launches to discover its own destiny. Such are the days of our lives. We are born and our flower opens to the sun of life as we grow. Eventually, we leave our home to discover our own world—a cycle that repeats itself over and over again. Dandelions will always come and go and we can decide if they are friend or foe. Regardless of which perspective we choose, the beauty of the dandelion endures. Have a wonderful day.   Boulder Green Built Homes For Sale C...

Bolder Boulder 10k Race The Bolder Boulder 10k race was held here in Boulder Colorado yesterday. Officials said approximately 53,700 citizen runners and walkers participated in the race. The professional race was held after the citizens had cleared the course. Named America’s best 10k event by Runner’s World magazine’s December 2009 issue, the Bolder Boulder is billed as one of the largest Memorial Day events in the country. The race started near 30th street and Iris and then followed a scenic tour of Boulder before ending at the Folsom Field Stadium on the Colorado University Campus. The event concludes with skydivers and a flyover of four military jets. It is an extraordinary event and seems to attract more people every year. The photos below are the very last segment which featured t...

Life on the Edge A short distance just outside of Boulder as you start to head up Canyon Blvd. into the mountains there is a popular rock climbing spot. There is one arrangement of rocks that folks use for training. This time of year there are usually one or two people there learning how to use the ropes and to practice their moves. The first two photos show one of the practice climbers. Across the river are numerous large sheer cliffs. These rocks are not for armatures. In the third and fourth photos below you can see the climber on the lower right. I tried to get a close up but it was hard to capture the magnitude of the cliff and the climber in the same shot. This is not my sport but I admire the courage and strength of those who go for it. This sport really does put your life on the...

Mystery Solved, Boulder River Rock Artist Revealed When I happened on the latest arrangement of river rock art to appear along Boulder Creek yesterday, I noticed a young man sitting on the bank. After a while, he went out and went to work on building another masterpiece. He had incredible patience holding the rocks to find just the right balancing point. After a while I approached him and asked him if he was the mysterious artist that has been creating the various arrangements in previous weeks. Indeed, he is the one. He was a calm and gentle young man and obviously enjoyed his work. I had a nice chat with him and complimented him on his extraordinary creations. At last, the mystery is solved.     Click Here to View Energy Star Certified Homes For Sale Contact Me Today For More Informat...

Rock Art Close-ups… Here are some close-ups of the recent river rock art creations along Boulder Creek. This is no simple feat. These rocks are heavy and it is a real trick to get them to maintain their balance. In a previous post someone asked if the rocks were held with some sort of cement or glue—NOT! Each rock is carefully balanced on the other. I learned that when I accidentally knocked one over. I was embarrassed to have destroyed a beautiful piece of art. I stepped on the base rock and the whole thing went tumbling down. It took me a while but I was able to re-create a similar arrangement.     Click Here to View Energy Star Certified Homes For Sale Contact Me Today For More Information Or Call Me At 720-771-5594 Click Here to Search More Denver and Boulder County Homes For Sale  ...

Boulder River Rock Art Returns… In the past few weeks I posted a couple of blogs on Boulder River Rock Art. The photos in the previous post showed some very interesting arrangements of rocks along Boulder Creek. Those photos pale in comparison to what I saw yesterday. Shown below are a couple of the photos I took just yesterday. These rock arrangements are just amazing. And this time there was a small city of them. I’ll do close ups of a couple of the more prominent ones in another post.     Click Here to View Energy Star Certified Homes For Sale Contact Me Today For More Information Or Call Me At 720-771-5594 Click Here to Search More Denver and Boulder County Homes For Sale   If you or someone you know is interested in buying or selling a home in Boulder County or anywhere in Denver M...

We all know 2009 was a rough year for real estate everywhere.  So how is Boulder real estate in 2010 comparing to 2009? According to the records on the MLS, between the first of the year and April 30, 2010, there were 192 sales of detached homes in Boulder.  This is an increase of 40% over the same time period in 2009.  However, the median price of homes sold in Boulder dropped 6% from 2009.  This statistic is not surprising, given that the market likely saw a boost from sales for first-time home buyers due to the tax credit, and first-time home buyers are more likely to be purchasing homes on the lower end. Attached homes in Boulder saw a boost in both number of sales and median price.  The number of sales of attached homes is up 29% over the same period in 2010, with an increase in t...

Boulder Colorado Rain Storm Photos We had a pretty good storm move through the Boulder area y a couple of days ago. It only lasted about a half hour, at least the strongest part of it, before moving on. The good news is that it was rain and not snow. Just last week we had several inches of snow. It was a bit odd for this time of year, even here in Boulder. The first photo below is just before the dark clouds consumed us. The second and third photos capture some of the intense rain and hail. The fourth photo shows the return to calm after the storm just before sunset.     Click Here to View Energy Star Certified Homes For Sale Contact Me Today For More Information Or Call Me At 720-771-5594 Click Here to Search More Denver and Boulder County Homes For Sale   If you or someone you know is...

Boulder Tulips Still Smiling Tulips are still in full bloom all over town here in Boulder. I love the variety of colors. In fact the colors are so vibrant the almost seem like they are hooked up to a battery somewhere. This garden was growing alongside Boulder Creek just outside the library. In many of the gardens the grounds keepers keep replanting to keep the fresh blossoms coming throughout the season. It’s a wonderful time of year to enjoy the beauty of Mother Nature.     Click Here to View Energy Star Certified Homes For Sale Contact Me Today For More Information Or Call Me At 720-771-5594 Click Here to Search More Denver and Boulder County Homes For Sale   If you or someone you know is interested in buying or selling a home in Boulder County or anywhere in Denver Metro please call...

First Fast Company and now the New York Times have begun to leak out the secret that Boulder CO is quickly becoming a hot bed for High Tech start ups.  Many entrepreneurs have called attention to the fact that Boulder CO has a much more supportive business climate.  Silicon Valley tends to be stuck in the old business model of reaching the top by stepping on the shoulders of your competition.  The Boulder community is still about success, but tends to lean more towards building synergy. The 300 days a year of Sun and the ability to work hard and play hard have also been a big factor of allowing Boulder to begin to shed it's hippy roots and be known for more than Marijuana dispensaries and being one of the top rock climbing areas in the world. Couple all of this with great Boulder CO Rea...
