These Broncos could give us a heart attack!    The 4th quarter comebacks are so tough on our hearts!    Truly, the Texans looked really good most of the game, but many 3 downs and outs by both teams.   Defense was working on both sides, and the Broncos kept the Texans from getting a touchdown in the red zone.  BUT, a win is a win, and we'll take it!We had two important players out with injuries, and sadly, the Texans' quarterback was also injured during the game.Sure fun to watch the Broncos actually playing, and mostly playing very well this year!We are ahead of the Chiefs this year in our division, but can we keep that up?Time will tell!On a side note, we hit the highest temperature Denver has EVER seen in Denver today - 83 degrees - November 2nd, WOW.

The Town of Larkspur is located 40 miles south of Denver and West of I-25.   The town was incorporated in 1979 and today is known for the Renaissance Festival held every year in Larkspur and the Yogi Bear's Jellystone Campground.   Most homes in Larkspur are on lots of one acre or more and surrounded by trees.   You will see lots of wildlife - deer, mountain lions, bears (brown & black), foxes, coyotes, and lots of birds.  Going to the grocery store will require a trip to Castle Rock, and depending on where in the town you live, it could be 15 minutes.   There isn't much in the "town", but a gas station, post office, three restaurants, and of course, two golf courses with restaurants.   Bear Dance Golf Course is closer to I-25, and Perry Park Golf Course is on the West side of town. Th...

In the fall of 1974, writer Stephen King and his wife stopped for the night at an old hotel overlooking the city. Once among the grande dames of the west, The Stanley had fallen on hard times and was a ghost of its former, Edwardian-era self.Upon arriving, the Kings learned the hotel was closing for the winter and only a skeleton crew remained. Nonetheless, the couple was checked into Room 217, the Presidential Suite, as the only paying guests. That night, the author had a nightmare in which he saw his young son being chased down the hotel’s long, empty corridors by a predatory, possessed fire hose. He woke drenched in sweat and stepped to the balcony to smoke a cigarette. By the time he stubbed it out, he’d worked out the “bones” of what would become his third novel, and first best-sell...

Will Hamm had asked me if I had Monday free on my calendar about a week ago, as it was probably time for him to take Sharon up to view some animals.   He asked if I wanted to come with them, and I said, of course!   Traveling across Highway 34, there were quite a few bighorn sheep, which was very cool to see!Estes Park is about 1.5-2 hours from our homes, and Will drove.    We did go directly into the Rocky Mountain National Park.   It was kind of funny. Sharon had checked online to see if anyone would be working in the Park since the government shutdown, and she found that the bathrooms would not be open, and no one would be at the entrance.   So, Will almost sailed past the entry, but the Park Ranger stuck her hand out to get him to stop.    He felt bad and told her we all thought the...

The sellers of one of my listings decided they did not want to be on the market any longer.   Buyers showing up late, show up, leave and come back when they feel like it.   They are just tired of all of it.  When I got back, I called to catch up, and we had a heart-to-heart conversation.   I get it, being on the market is tough.  I listed my house 8 years ago, and went through similar experiences.   (That is why we need to sell every so often so we know what we put our clients through!)SO, I did warn them that they will be bombarded with agents trying to get them to relist.   They assured me when they are ready again, they will call me.   Well, just so you know your phone will be going off constantly!Sure enough, it has been, and then they got this text and sent it to me asking what was...

Tollgate Crossing is a beautiful neighborhood of homes that was started by DR Horton that is conveniently located 30 minutes outside of Downtown Denver and is an easy commute to DIA.   You will also now find Oakwood Homes & Antero Homes building in Tollgate Crossing.   There are now some townhomes in the neighborhood, also.  With many pocket parks throughout the neighborhood, it's not uncommon to see neighborhood families with kids playing and enjoying the Colorado weather.  Living in Tollgate Crossing, you have retail outlets at Southlands Mall, and retail and hospitals close by, but don't have the traffic you would expect in Denver.   Homes in this neighborhood were built from 2004 to 2019.   This neighborhood is located in the Cherry Creek School District.    You will find this nei...

Colorado is expecting some cooler weather week and you never know when the first flake will appear in town.    Time for everyone to unhook their hoses if the temps near freezing.   Anytime we see overnight temperatures below freezing, this could damage the spigots. Here are a few items you should winterize before winter has set in --  Fertilize the lawn for its last feeding Check for drafts - use a candle around doors and windows Blow out sprinklers Check the fire extinguisher Check all windows for broken seals and be sure they shut & lock Give the deck one last coat of sealer Inspect your roof for shingle damage, or call a roofer Clean rain gutters and downspouts Check around the foundation for any pipes/ducts coming from the house to see if there is additional caulking needed and/or ...
