Annual Visit to Julian CA ~ 9/13/24For those of us living in Southern California along the ocean, Julian and other inland mountain communities are a world apart. While we have miles of beaches, plenty of sand and abundant palm trees – they have lots of pine trees, mountains and more leaves on the trees that turn colors…plus snow in the winter. We have been making day trips to Julian, about 60 miles from Carlsbad, pretty much every year since we moved here in 2005, and occasionally more than once a year. Yesterday was time for a visit, and to pick apples and pears! It’s a beautiful drive through the mountains, through Ramona, past the Oasis Camel Dairy Foundation (such fun to see camels in the fields as we drive by), and through the small town of Santa Ysabel. ArtWalk Carlsbad is September 21 and 22, 2024 The 5th Annual ArtWalk Carlsbad is just a week away on September 21 and 22. No doubt artists and art lovers alike are looking forward to this popular event. The inaugural ArtWalk Carlsbad was in 2018 and I had a great time then, and in 2022. Unfortunately, the 2020 and 2021 ArtWalks were canceled due to the pandemic. ArtWalk San Diego, the organization that produces the Mission Federal ArtWalk in Little Italy and the ArtWalk @ Liberty Square, is the organizer of this popular 2-day art festival in North San Diego County. Multiple sponsors also help make this art event affordable for attendees and artists. ArtWalk Carlsbad is free to attend, and will feature more than 150 local, regional and international artists.
