I just listed a home on a former golf course (now private park) in the Lighthouse Marina in West Sacramento that has such a gorgeous panoramic view in the back yard, I'm certain buyers will want to buy that home for the view probably more so than its almost 5,000 square feet and 7 bedrooms. Fabulous views can sell a home, even if the home is lacking in upgrades. I bought my own home mostly due to its 1/4 acre lot and treetop views. One can fix an interior. It's harder to change the location, but it can be accomplished. Presto, chango, nothing up my sleeve. Not every home I sell is in an excellent location like the Lighthouse Marina. Rumors disturb me. That's because rumors are the lazy agent's way to receive information. Somebody, somewhere tells them not to do something, and they write it in blood on their forehead without a second thought. Take buying a short sale, for example, when Nationstar has the first loan and there is a second loan. I've heard agents say they wouldn't touch it with a 10-foot pole but they don't know why, and what they've done is prevented their buyer from buying a home. They're like their own worst enemies sometimes. They don't mean to be, so it's not on purpose, but all the same, that's exactly what happens.
