(Rich Kids Real Estate: The Brokerage)
It's been a while since I have last posted! My typical disclaimer is that things have been so hectic that I have had little time to breathe, let alone sit down to write. With that said, it gives me no greater pleasure than to update my blog with a new sale by Rich Kids Real Estate in the West Hollywood area! Located on prime Harper between Melrose Ave and Santa Monica Blvd, my clients instantly fell in love with this property (as well as the whole home buying community apparently...I'll touch on that shortly). The moment you walk through the front gate encased in lush green palms for ultimate privacy, you are immediately enveloped in the playful yet sophisticated courtyard. Colorful plants. vines, and hedges surround the front entrance while whimsical tiles add a Moroccan flair to this ...

I attended a conference of sorts titled An Afternoon in Los Angeles, which was put on by About.com.  Because About.com is a profit-making vehicle for the New York Times, it treats all of its writers pretty well. First, we had lunch in a private garden at the Sunset Marquis Hotel. Glorious sunshine and no wind. Perfect weather. Then we had a 3-hour session with our editors and a lively discussion with other writers during a couple of workshops. We brainstormed. Discussed what our readers want to find at our particular sites. I do the home buying and home selling website for About.com and have been writing articles / blogs for this site for 5 years. This is in addition to my services to the Sacramento community as a Sacramento short sale agent. To my astonishment, part of the presentation...

Usually when we fly out of the Sacramento airport we park at the economy lot and take the bus to the terminal. This involves planning ahead and allotting enough time for driving up and down the aisles looking for parking spots in the aisles we were told had parking spots and which do not, lugging my suitcase across gravel because we've finally parked on the outskirts somewhere, and then shivering at the bus stop as we wait for the bus that takes forever to arrive. The economy parking lot at the Sacramento airport is not a pleasant experience. For that reason, I decided to splurge a little on this trip and park in the garage. I sell Sacramento short sales and, in exchange for that abuse, I rationalized to my husband that we should not have to suffer in the economy lot. It was a short wal...

One of my favorite characters on todays sitcom line up is “Jim Halpert” from “The Office”; Brilliantly played by John Krasinski. Seems Mr. Krasinski is selling his home “short” of what he paid back in 2006 @ $1,050,010.  The current market price is $945,000.  Zillows value places it at $785,500…Big Difference? Mr. Krasinski took out 2 loans in 2006 for a total of $935,000 according to Los Angeles county Tax Records.   See more pictures HERE Source: IMDb Best known as the under-motivated, sarcastic prankster, Jim Halpert, on the work-life mockumentary series “The Office,” actor John Krasinski has edged his way onto Hollywood’s big screen over the past few years. Krasinski has taken on roles in “Leatherheads” opposite George Clooney, “License to Wed” with Robin Williams, and “It’s Comp...

Cary Grant, born Archibald Alexander Leach, set the standard for Hollywood’s charismatically debonair actors with roles in classic films throughout the 1940s, 50s, and 60s. Though most of his performances were timeless, with a few nabbing Grant Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations, some critically acclaimed favorites were “Bringing up Baby” (1938), “An Affair to Remember” (1957), “North by Northwest” (1959), and “Charade” (1963). While Grant never managed to walk away with a trophy, he was awarded the coveted Honorary Award at the 42nd Academy Awards “for his unique mastery of the art of screen acting.” More Photo's Here... When Grant wasn’t taking to the movie sets as his suave self, he retreated to a quiet, restored movie colony property in Palm Springs, CA. According to the li...

Almost every buyer that I deal with wants a home "within walking distance to shops and restaurants!"  And very few areas in Los Angeles offer that. This condo on 8530 Holloway Dr., is THAT home!  This condo is centrally located in hot, hipster West Hollywood, right smack in the middle of 'walking distance’ to shops, restaurants, markets!  (And BTW, these aren’t “just restaurants,” as West Hollywood has some of the finest dining in all of Los Angeles). AND...it's priced well for this location at $439k for a 2BR + 2 bath condo at 1,012 square feet, with HOA dues of $370/month.But perhaps the best part of this unit is the LIGHT!  This CORNER UNIT has windows on 3 sides of the unit, including floor to ceiling windows in the LR and 3 side-by-side floor to ceiling windows of the dining room......

Day (225,226,227)Every property is different. Every client is very different. The funny thing is that every deal brings  a new voice of reason for the future. Last week we had situations arise for a particular property. The home is quite the deal. It has an income producing property on the premises that pays for nearly half of the mortgage. The home is located right in the heart of Hollywood with convenience to everything. The situation #1: First the home was built in 20's which is very common for homes in Los Angeles. The home is lacking a proper drainage system which can affect the foundation of the home in the long run. When it rains, the water goes directly under the home which can deteriorate the foundation. Simple Fix: Installing a gutter system on the home so any water can proper...
