Hidden Gems on Abbot Kinney, Venice Beach LA Voted America's Coolest Block by GQ Magazine, Abbot Kinney Blvd in Venice Beach has some excellent hidden and not so hidden gems.  GTA GTA, Gjelina Take Away, is not very hidden. Unless you have your mind so set on a table at Gjelina, you might miss GTA. Award winning pies, incredible pizza, and the most delicious breakfast sandwchiches. The hidden part is the shady spot around the corner from GTA.  Once you get your take away take a sharp right and you'll find good old fashioned crates to sit on and a few benches where you can chow down and watch the beautiful people pass by on Abbot Kinney Blvd.   Another Kind of Sunrise   On Abbot Kinney, down the path between to beach bungalows, you will find Another Kind of Sunrise where butter coffee an...

Customer Service: What does it mean to you? I provide 100% customer service! Period!! I pride myself with providing 100 percent customer service. That is my Goal, that is my Objective and I will not settle   for anything less. Period!! I have often heard people say they give “110% customer service” sorry to disappoint you, there is only 100% to give. Super Coach John Wooden of UCLA said it best: “110 is not the goal” Coach Wooden expected from his players to reach perfection. So he was clear that perfection is to give 100 percent of their potential and that is what he would expect from them every day. Jeff Bezos said it best when Amazon.com received 99% client satisfaction rating:  “…we will not be satisfied until we reach 100%...” John Wooden’s credit speak clearly for themselves :  …B...

by Jodi Summers If you own real estate at the beach, life is like a holiday by the sea, today is good, tomorrow even better.  As you enjoy the ocean, the  equity just keeps on rising. Figure if California real estate is strong, coastal real estate is stronger. And, BTW, California real estate is good.  We will soon be seeing more property millionaires. The California Association of Realtors reports that the July year-over-year statewide median price increased by 29.8%  to $433,760 (rah! Rah! RAH!).  California strong. By, comparison, the national median price for an existing single-family home in 2Q 2013 was $203,500 - up by 12.2% from a year earlier. Here at the end of the 10 freeway, the median asking price for Santa Monica and Venice residential properties is up 25% from August 2012,...

How is the Venice, CA Luxury Real Estate Market? Check out the answer!   There was a time not that far back, when Venice was perceived as “not somewhere you would want to call home”. Times have changed. I have not heard comments like that in years!   Venice has about three or four hip cool and trendy pockets that I could think of the top of my head. The price points are also now very Luxurious tooJ well you check it out and tell me what you think!    Quietly Venice has been making the Transformation. Abbott Kinney is one of the Trendiest spots now in Los Angeles, The Venice Beach area has been also going through a major transformation and of course the Canals have been pricey from day one.   Currently there are 39 Active Listings of Single Family Homes in Venice, CA. Interestingly the m...

by Jodi Summers Wow! Finally the chaos is calming down as many of those needing to buyreal estate got their fix. With interest rates starting their rise off of historic lows, the past several months have been a home-buying frenzy in the Santa Monica and Venice neighborhoods. Lots of demand and minimal supply. If you compare residential property numbers from May 2012 with May 2013 in Santa Monica and Venice, the number of for sale properties is down -31% and the number of sold properties is up 29%, according to the Santa Monica Property Blog.   Silicon Beach is not alone in the home price surge, though we always seem to do things bigger and better here…   continued @  h...

Almost Wordless Wednesday; Ceramic & Paper Mache Artist on Venice Beach, CA I've been in Venice Beach, CA since Saturday visiting my son and supporting some of the local beach vendors.  The business card for www.loscalavera.com says: " Watch out for Fake Imitations; Say No To Piracy".  I did watch out for "Fake Imitations" and bought two authentic Calavera skulls.

What’s Not Selling In The Silicon Beach Area Of Venice, CA 90291? It’s a great market for Venice Beach and is heating up with each new listing and closed sale.  Properties are selling quickly, within the first two weeks, and sometimes over night.  We have low inventory.  But is anything that comes on the market selling like it did in the last hot market?  What is NOT selling? Here is a list of properties in the Silicon Beach Area of Venice, CA 90291 that have been on the market for 60 days or more: The reasons for not selling sooner are luxury and high price like the listing at 57 Windward Ave for $11.9M with 13,796 sq ft.   Another property on 745 Millwood Ave, has 3 charming bungalows and is well taken care of cosmetically and structurally.  However, the price tag of $5.4M doesn’t wor...

My favorite Barista is Intelligentsia on the Trendy Abbot Kinney Blvd. In October of 2010 I have written a Blog post about this wonderful Coffee Destination Place. It is not just a coffee shop http://actvra.in/ML5 it is a place to see and be seen. Quite frankly I just go for the great coffee. I have consistently bought the eight ounce Latte. Diane has had their cappuccino and she has raved about it. I was on the phone with her today and mentioned I am going for a cup of coffee, she immediately asked are you going to Abbott Kinney Blvd and I answered in the affirmative: yes I am going to Intelligentsia.  There are two Baristas who make this. Step one: the coffee is made and then Step two:  followed by the whipped cream. The second person is the Artist. He receives the coffee and the crea...
