The Mortgage Bankers Association expects the interest rate on a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage to jump from 6.2 percent to 6.5 percent by the end of the third quarter, as investors lose hope that the Federal Reserve will slash short-term rates any time soon. In a long-term forecast released this week, MBA Chief Economist Doug Duncan predicted existing-home sales will decline by about 7 percent this year compared to 2006, and that sales of new homes will decline by about 8 percent. Sales in both categories are projected to rebound in 2008 by about 3 percent and 1 percent, respectively, in 2009Besides the fact that Temecula is an awsome place to live, the timing is right to buy a home in Temecula.   With interest rates still low and prices down your money goes a long way here.  Temecula took...

Mortgage Fraud Can Have a negative Ripple Effect by John Occhi, Hemet CA REALTOR Hemet CA Real Estate As you may know, I have this sort of "Law & Order" fascination with the topic of Mortgage Fraud, and have shared a couple of articles in the past that have gotten some great response from the on line real estate community.Today, I received an email from a friend in Temecula - 30 miles south of where I am and the market I concentrated on until last July.  Apparently, one of the largest Mortgage Fraud cases ever uncovered is starting to unravel fight now.  He sent me a published article in the Californian, the local print newspaper and website. It has my stomach in knots.                                                                                   Long story short is a family conspire...

Temecula Market Report How is the Temecula real estate market. The whole country watches the market here to see trends in housing. Even though sales have slowed down and there is more standing inventory we are not in a bad market. Everything is relative and when you compare the ridiculously hot market of 2 years ago it looks bad but it real is not that bad. We have an average of 6 months worth of inventory in all price ranges and the days on market have doubled since this time last year but house are selling and people are buying. The cooling of the market is actually good for the economy long term. If housing appreciated like that for too long inflation would skyrocket and that is very bad. I know that every month by the end the sales boards at my office are full and overflowing onto p...

Not using numbers to lie to your Temecula real estate clientsNumbers can be used to say many thing's both god and bad. When an agent wants to tell a seller what they would like to hear in order to get a listing they often use numbers to tell a tall tale. Comparative Market Analysis' can be manipulated if you add a comp that does not belong or leave one or two out that do belong but lower the value. Honesty is always the best approach. Everyone deserves to get a fair deal on a Temecula home and I would rather approach people in a honest manner and show them the true value of their property even if I do not get the listing. I personally do not want to waste time and money marketing overpriced property's. The market has shifted and prices have gone down they did not plummet with the burst ...
