A judge subsequently...

San Anselmo (like many parts of Marin County) is HOT!  Homes priced under $800K are selling extremely well right now (six sold in the past 30 days, with several new listings just hitting the market).  Homes in San Anselmo priced between $800K and $1 million are in short supply (only 3 active listings on the market) and sell fast so long as they are nicely maintained, updated, and/or located in desirable neighborhoods.  In fact, the current absorption rate for homes under $1 million in San Anselmo is under one month-underscoring the extremely low inventory (if you are thinking of selling and your home is in this price range, you are in the driver's seat).  That is the definition of HOT!The low inventory phenomenon extends into the higher price points as well-incredibly, homes priced betw...

San Anselmo, once the county's railroad hub, is larger than many of its neighbors, but retains a small-town charm. The self-proclaimed "Antiques Capital of Northern California,'' San Anselmo has about 130 antique dealers, as well as bookstores, coffee shops, boutiques, and restaurants along San Anselmo Avenue next to Creek Park. The downtown area is a delightful place to eat, visit, and spend an afternoon.Homes are older and smaller than those in nearby Ross. Larger lots grace some hill areas. Five roads converge through The Hub, with Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and The Miracle Mile jamming from traffic during the rush hours. Housing and educationSan Anselmo offers mid-range housing prices. Real estate sales have remained steady, and except for a jump in 1995, few new homes have been co...

San Anselmo is a town in Marin County which is just West of San Rafael, the County Seat.  This town was incorporated in 1907, after the 1906 earthquake and is home to the San Francisco Theological Seminary (which opened in 1890) and is considered the antique capital of Northern California.San Anselmo Avenue is the downtown area and is home to several festivals as well as many wonderful restaurants like Comforts, Insalata's, Fork, Taco Janes and Cucina Jackson Fillmore.  There are also several good shops for clothing, jewelry, accessories, antiques--even a winery and automotive repair.  (Hey, it can be hard to find a good mechanic.)The police station used to be housed in City Hall, on San Anselmo Avenue, until the flooding on New Year's Eve of 2005.  Now they are down on the Miracle Mile...
