 It's always a bit sad for me when I pick up a lockbox after closing. I generally perform this task myself, although I could hire it to be done like most top agents. I like to collect my thoughts about the transaction as I drive to the house one last time. Reflect. Real estate transactions are about people, and people move out, begin a new life elsewhere and our daily interaction ceases. Because I care about my clients, it's a bitter sweet moment when escrow closes and they move away. I've been getting halfway through my workday lately before I remember I did not post a blog on this site. That's what working from Hawaii will do. I am 3 hours behind California, so I have a lot of catching up to do when I get up at 6:30 AM to start work.  It's not like getting up at 6:30 in Sacramento, where I can be relatively assured of a quiet morning for a bit, at least until 8 AM or so. No matter how many listings I take -- and I've sold more than 500 homes over the past 5 years according to MLS -- I still get excited. You can imagine how many I've sold over the past 40 years!
