Rolling Hills, California is a gated and glorious community located at the top of the Palos Verdes Peninsula.   Speaking from a real estate point of view, it was a quiet fall and winter in the equestrian neighborhood--there was nary a single real estate sale from October to April, and that is a long dry spell by most measures. Their were 26 properties listed for sale as of March 31, 2009, with an average list price of approx. $4.3 million. It is my habit to check the MLS Hotsheet each morning while I enjoy a cup of tea or two! The City of Rolling Hills was incorporated in 1957. The Rolling Hills City Hall was constructed in 1967. It is a gated community designed to preserve the equestrian lifestyle. At the end of my recent Mediterranean Cruise on Carnival Cruise Lines, my husband and youngest son, who had just graduated high school, flew to Paris France for a few days before heading home.  We had a wonderful stay in Paris, and one thing that is amaziing about Paris is the efficiency of their subway. I recently took a Carnival Cruise to the Mediterranean and one of the day trips that we took was from the port city of Livorna to Florence. Florence is an incredible city with unbelievable museums and historical sites. One of the things that you should definitely see is the Uffizi Museum. I recently took a fantastic cruise on Carnival Cruise Lines to several ports o' call on the Mediterranean and Aegean Seas including Venice, Italy. If you visit Venice, the following are some suggestions: 1)  It is about a 15 or 20 minute walk from the Ship to the Water Bus stop in Piazza Roma. You should buy a 24 hour pass for 16 euro for unlimited use of the Water bus. Their are 2 water bus lines, one of which makes fewer stops between the Piazza Roma and St. Marks square. The stops each line makes are clearly outlined on a board at each water bus station. It is about a 30 minute water bus ride to St. Marks Square. You should be aware of the difference between the water bus and private water taxis. Water taxis are free to charge whatever they want, and can be very expensive. 2)  You sh...
