Palos Verdes Real Estate Palos Verdes Drive North Neighborhood 2014 2014 Palos Verdes homes sales for Palos Verdes Drive North neighborhood increased to 72 single family homes sold compared to 67 in 2013.  Price per square foot for Palos Verdes Drive North houses that sold in 2014 increased to $545 compared from $505 in 2013, a 8.0% increase.  Average sales price for Palos Verdes Drive North homes sold in 2014 was $1,509,676 compared to $1,268,359 in 2013.  The most expensive home sold for $2,825,000 and the lowest priced home sold for $655,000. Currently, Palos Verdes Drive North has 14 active Palos Verdes homes for sale. The City of Rolling Hills Estates Real Estate Market, including the unincorprated area known as Palos Verdes Peninsula adjacent to the City, had shown relatively strong sales. The number of homes for sale at the end of December of 18 homes is now 260% higher than the 5 homes for sale at the same time last year. The average number of homes sold per month in the 4th quarter of 8 is the same as during the comparable quarter last year.This equates to a little more than 2 months inventory.   Palos Verdes is full of towering cliffs and deep canyons.  Our spectacular views are dependent upon the plethora of high hills and bluffs above the Pacific Ocean, and the flat land below that allows us to see all the way to downtown Los Angeles and the mountains beyond. The cliffs and canyons can also be quite dangerous.  Unfortunately, it is not uncommon to learn someone has tumbled over the edge.  The outcome is often not a good one.  Yesterday, a rider and horse took a 100 ft. fall.  Early reports were the rider survived and the paramedics were trying to save the horse.   Palos Verdes would not be Palos Verdes without its cliffs and canyons, but it's best not to venture too close to the edge of either one.

The eastern entrance to Palos Verdes along Palos Verdes Drive North, and the introduction to the Palos Verdes horse property corridor in Rolling Hills Estates, is about to become visually more beautiful. Southern California Edison announced they will remove 11 power poles and replace them with underground utilities.  It's long overdue.   Yes, residents will not be happy with the traffic delays, but the end result will be worth the aggravation. There is a reason many of the street names in Rolling Hills Estates are of an equestrian nature, such as Dapplegray and Buckskin and the list goes on. Rolling Hills Estates, one of the four cities located on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, is home to horse properties ranging from a ranch style home with a single stable to estates with horse facilities for multiple horses.   Josh and I recently showed a horse property in Rolling Hills Estates complete with a riding ring, stable for three horses and the house for humans was not too shabby either.  True to form for a horse person, these buyers wanted to make sure the horse accommodations were up to par for their horses.  The residence was of secondary concern.   The Palos Verdes Peninsula is laced with riding trails and Rolling Hills Estates ...
