The following is the 4th quarter 2012 Real Estate Market Report for the City of Rolling Hills Estates, including the unincorprated area known as Palos Verdes Peninsula adjacent to the City. The number of homes for sale has decreased over the last several months toonly 10 homes on the market at the end of the 4th quarter, 52% lower than this time last year. Sales increased substantially in the fourth quarter compared to last quarter to an average of 11 homes sold per month, which is still a 267% increase over a year ago, and with 14 homes in escrow at the end of the quarter. The Palos Verdes Farmer's Market is held every Sunday in the Peninsula Shopping Center from 9 am until 1 pm.  They have vendors for fresh fruits, vegetables, fresh cut flowers, live plants and flowers, breads, cakes, honey, art, local books and food.   We picked up fresh eggs and some of the highly reviewed hummus.  Please note though that no dogs are allowed in the market, per LA County regulations. Rolling Hills Estates Residents can recycle their Christmas trees by placing them at the curb on regularly scheduled trash collection days. Waste Management will collect the trees Dec. 26 through Jan. 16. All decorations, tree stands, plastic containers and tinsel must be removed from the tree before collection. Flocked trees will be accepted.  Any questions about tree removal should be directed to Waste Management at310-677-6500      .

The number of properties sold monthly has increased substantially over the last 3 months, averaging 8 sales a month, a 60% increase over the comparable period last year .
