You Want to Put What on my Face.........Facials have Come a Long Way   My daughter treated me to a relaxing facial on Thursday for my upcomimg birthday. It was a nice suprise and I documented it with a few pictures.     When you first arrive, they escort you to the back and they have a relaxing area outside but it was pouring down rain so I chose to sit inside. A sugar cookie and some iced water is refreshing.               They brought a nice warm bowl of foamy water and then added a scented oils. A Baby Bird and a Speckled Egg in a Nest   Today, I stopped by to visit with one of my friends. She had a ladder sitting out on her patio and I asked if she had any repairs going on. No she says but come and see my birds nest. So I got up on the ladder and there was a baby bird waiting for its mother to return. I only had my iPhone so I quickly took a few photos and got down off the ladder. It was hard to get the head shot but you can see the eye in the top of the picture. The bird was about the size of a small tangerine so I think it might be ready to fly soon.     There were 2 eggs but one didn't hatch so here is a pretty good shot of the speckled egg in the nest.   Sometimes a New Bed Can Really Change a Room         I have had this bed for for 4 years and before that it was my mother's bed for at least 50 years. It is solid brass and pretty but I just decided I wanted a different look and a new comforter set in lighter colors.         So I ordered this bed from a major furniture store and they said it would be delivered in 2 weeks and the truck would call and schedule delivery. The good news was that they did not charge to ship it and had free delivery.  So 3 days later, Fed Ex knocked on the door and had the bed on their truck in 3 thin long boxes. I was not home so when I got home and realized it was not set up in the bedroom, I was disappointed. Safety Tips for your Pets during the Summer Months     We hear all the articles on the news about someone leaving their dog or even their baby in the car in 110 degree heat and we shake our heads. Most of these situations turn out really bad. Sad thing is that this occurs way too often in the US so here are few reminders for us all. Are you one of the 6 Million Facebook Users that had their Personal Information Hacked?   It was announced Friday that Facebook had been infected with a virus which allowed people to download the personal information including emails and phone numbers. Facebook has over 1 billion users so they said there were only 6 million affected like it was a small percentage so no big deal. What….that is 6 million too many.   This breach was not detected by the Facebook Team but rather by someone who went through ‘the white hat hacker program’ which offers a bounty of a minimum of $500 per bug depending on the severity of the breach.  Homeowner of Newly Acquired Fixer Finds Valuables inside Walls of Home David Gonzalez, of Elbow Lake, Minnesota recently bought an old 1939 abandoned home for $10,100. He said there was already a bid for $10,000 so he overbid by $100 and surprisingly got the home. Gonzalez is a contractor so he decided that he and his wife would fix it up and turn a profit. While ripping out the old walls and ceilings, he found a rare comic book. It was a Action Comics #1 issue from 1938 showing Superman on the cover lifting up a car. He contacted a comic book appraiser to see what it was worth. While waiting for the appraiser to look at it, a relative grabbed it and caused it to become torn which significantly lowed the value. Staging the American Flag as a Tablecloth....So Disrespectful of HGTV Yesterday was flag day, June 14, 2013. It is a state holiday and not  federal so rarely does anyone talk about it or have a day off. But it was created to commemorate the adoption of the United States flag on June 14, 1777. HGTV ran an article earlier this week on their website to commemorate the American flag by using it as a tablecloth in a segment for "Classic 4th of July  Table Setting Ideas ".
