Public Hearing Planned for Seniors Affordable Housing Project in RPV

The Rancho Palos Verdes Plannin Commission will continue its review of a proposed 40-unit affordable housing complex for seniors at its next public hearing on January 27th. AMCAL Multi-housing Inc., plans to build a two story apartment complex on a 19.3 acre parcel at the northwest corner of Crestridge Road and Crenshaw Boulevard. The units will be restricted to residents age 55 and older. The Project will also include a 1,100 sq. ft. clubhouse, 58 parking spaces and a bocce court. About 17 acres of the property would be disgated open space. The sitge is quite hilly and will require a 25 foot retaining wall to provide a flat site for construction. The City's Redevelopment Agency purchased the site in 2000 for $700,000. The City must provide affordable housing at this site by March 2010 ...
