A Visit to the Oasis Camel Dairy (Almost) We left the coast today to try and find some sun, which has been sadly missing, except for a peek now and then, for a number of days. Heading east was the way to go since the marine layer would be gone. A favorite place to visit, about 50 miles away, is Julian, known now for its apples but with a history of being a gold rush town. It's easy to get to, you simply take the 78 freeway which becomes a smaller road in Escondido, then follow that through the mountains to Ramona, then to Santa Ysabel, and finally Julian.
