It has been a little while since we did a 203k renovation loan in Rodeo but one was on Garretson Street and faced the old refinery. I thought at the time that what a terrible view this property had of a fence then a refinery... today that refinery is long gone and there is allot of newer homes built on that site.. who would have guessed. It did always bother me that the refineries were built on the water and took up all those amazing water views. Spent the day touring the San Francisco South Bay area today...... Came in a couple of days early before San Jose RainCamp and spent the whole day touring the San Francisco South Bay cities, and looking at open houses also. I went through Sunnyvale, Palo Alto, Redwood City, Cupertino, Burlingame, San Mateo, San Carlo, Pacifica, Half Moon Bay, Willow Glen, and a few others. The South Bay area is really a special place.  Residential homes here are just the most charming neighborhoods you can think of. Last Sunday my favorite hiking buddy (my husband, Gene) and I broke away from the busyness of life and real estate to enjoy a fast-paced hike from San Pedro Valley Park in Pacifica to the top of nearby Montara Mountain. A scenic drive of about 30 minutes lead us from downtown San Carlos, up beautiful Interstate 280, to Highway One along the coast, and then to the park. This hike, roughly 10 miles in length, gains perhaps 1,000 ft. While the trail is steep, the beauty of the blooming wildflowers, flowering trees and shrubs, views of the Pacific Ocean, and the utter peace of the area more than reward one for the effort expended.
