I never thought I would see prices drop in Newport Beach, and really they haven't much! Living in Newport Beach is very special. You can't beat a beautiful day here. So if you are thinking of buying, now is the time..... I looked at past sales on the Multiple Listing Service.  I compared sales from March 2008 to March 2007 in Newport Beach, prices dropped 9.1%,  and in Corona Del Mar down 6.4%. Yes this is a drop, but not like the media claims. It's a slight decrease. Considering they were up 30% just a couple of years ago. If you are considering purchasing a home in Newport Beach do it before it goes up again. No one knows when that will be.  I will say that our Open houses have been extremely busy with buyers, our office is closing numerous sales weekly, and we are definately feeling...

The Newport Boat Show has begun, and this is a great weekend to come and view all the beautiful yachts that are now docked in Newport Harbor. The boat show is at Lido Marina in Newport Beach, and each year, docks are brought in to accommodate all the yachts that are on display and for sale. This boat show began on April 9, and goes through April 13th. The weather is beautiful in Newport Beach and it is a fun opportunity to walk around and learn about the different yachts. Eat lunch at one of the harbor side restaurants, and walk around and enjoy the boats. There is more information on the Newport Boat Show here.

First of all I have to say that Balboa Island is one of my favorites spots in Newport Beach. I often, about 2-3 times a week take a short drive down and walk around the island or go on a run. There is nothing more peaceful than arriving early in the morning around 7:00 and enjoy the scenery. This is the view from the bridge going from Main Island to the Little Island. I just love the views! You will find folks on walks at any time of the day. It is also a very pet friendly location. The homes vary, you will find charming beach cottages to the most extensive homes. Here's one of my favorites.Like this home there are so many other gorgeous ones. Can you believe that once some bayfront lots sold for $25.00????? Now try $3,000,000. And yet Balboa still maintains its charm and small town feel...

Should you buy now or wait is kind of a silly question, if you ask me. Every day I have clients ask me this question. I also have people ask me if we have hit bottom. If I knew the answer I would be extrememly wealthy. No one knows when the bottom will hit, until prices go up. Usually we know that when we look back. My advise is if you have the funds to buy now, you should. There are some great buys out there, although not everyone has to sell. If you are testing the market, please dont. Not now. You will be very upset with the offers you will receive. Unfortunately there are the situations where people have bad loans and they do have to sell, relocation is another reason to sell, divorce, death, sizing down, moving up. But once again if you dont absolutely need to, dont! I will on the o...
