Many years ago, I used to own two gift shops here in Yountville, Caboose Noir and Train of Thought. Opening Caboose Noir in 1977 is what brought me to living here in the Napa Valley. Caboose Noir was a gift shop carrying primarily Noir Enamels which was owned by my late cousin Loreon Vigne', a well known San Francisco artist and finally the owner and founder Isis Oasis. Train of Thought was a paper store featuring gift cards, posters and many other paper products.About 1980 during Christmas while working at Caboose Noir, a young man came in to buy gifts for his mother. What's the Point of Points? Let's get right to the point.  What point?  Points.  I don't get it.  What's your point?  The point is points --- what are they, how do they work and should I pay them when I get a mortgage?  There's a lot of confusion about points and when a borrower researches his or her best mortgage options, inevitably there will be an element of points in the debate.  So in order to help ourselves find the best terms on any home loan, we need to get this point thing under our belt. Point One (One Point)Simply, one point equals 1 percent of the loan amount.  If you have a $500,000 mortgage, 1% of it is $5000.  Similarly, fractions of a point work the same.  In our example, 1/2 point on $500K is $2500.  If a lender says you can get any certain rate by paying 3/4 of a point... 06/14/2019

Cycle for Sight - Napa Valley 2019  Cycle for sight was not only a huge success, but a lot of fun. This year our company Golden Gate Sotheby's was one of the sponsors of the event. There were three courses you could ride 50 miles, 25 miles and 15 miles. My husband and I decided to break out the tandem we bought years back, and ride the 25 mile course.   I had invited a number of clients and friends to participate and in the end, there were 14 of us who attended.
