The Helmsman Statue is located in Marina Del Rey, CA at Burton Chace Park! The Helmsman is a statue which represented the Helms Bakery’s unfaltering delivery service for many years. Then on October 6th 1971 the Helms Family generously donated this 10+ foot Statue to Marina Del Rey, CA. For many years the Statue Stood in front of the Helms Bakery on Venice Blvd in Los Angeles, CA. It represented the Trademark of the Helms Bakery. Villa Romano one of the Gated Townhome Communities in Marina Del Rey, CA 90292 Villa Romano and Villa St Tropez of which I have blogged previously (http://actvra.in/YLK ) are the only two Gated Townhome Communities of the Villa Marina Townhome community. This is quite impressive since there are 18 independent communities which comprise of a total of 683+ Townhomes. They are all unique but similar. They are all anywhere for 25 -40 townhomes sharing a semi private pool. They each have a patio as well as private garages.   Stand up Paddle Boarders (SUP’s) in Marina Del Rey, CA be warned!   The Stand up Paddle Boarders has increased in the Marina Del Rey, CA & Venice, CA areas over the past couple of years. I remember taking a picture or two of a young Bikini Clad Stand up Paddle Boarder as almost a novelty and curiosity. Then I started seeing young physically fit men on Paddle Boards, next thing you know, now I am seeing young and old, physically fit and some not so fit on Paddle BoardsJ   I guess the phenomenon has been catching on all over the country and especially here in Marina Del Rey, CA. Villa St Tropez: One of the 18 Townhome communities of the Villa Marina Development! Villa St Tropez was built around 1967 and this complex consists of 43 units.  They have their own community pool with each town home having their private garage entrance as well as a lovely patio. This complex is also gated with a secured entrance to the common areas. The town homes range from 1500+ sq ft of living space to around 1900+ sq ft of living space. Just like the other complexes of Villa Marina this one has virtually no listings for sale. There was one this year on the market for about two months and the seller took it off the market. At the same time I was facing a situation in trying to keeping a deal together and writing another offer at the same time.     Then Diane came home from volunteering at the Lange Foundation this in the afternoon and she was hungry and wanted to know what is for dinner. Look no further: Café Buna in Marina Del Rey is the place As most of you who read my blog post know, I love to eat good food, but seldom do you hear me writing about Breakfast.  I seldom eat breakfast ( I know it is not healthy to drink two mugs of coffee and call it breakfast) I do love a good breakfast, the hardy type that combines breakfast & lunch for me and holds me over to dinner. The Azzurra was built in 2003 and consist of 450 Units. There are 19 Stories. It is considered truly a resort life style. The name Azzurra is Italian for “Blue Sky”.
